So I went ahead and lifted chest and tris despite the tendinitis pain and between the tree trimming the workout, and a 12 hr work day I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. Both arms and shoulders are throbbing, and my legs are still stinking sore from Friday! I’m dealing with it in a healthy way and having a whisky on a Monday night. Oh the joys of getting old lol

So what was your exact procedure? I’d love to get that type of brace instead of my sling. I’m still able to flex my elbow and I find myself doing that unintentionally.
I had a chronically subluxing biceps tendon so the doc anchored it in the groove and cut its original origin on the shoulder blade.
Any idea what your brace is officially called?

Woke at 175.0 feeling pretty lean and much better overall. Today’s a test day and then biceps and back tomorrow. That workout is by far the most taxing on my tendinitis issues so hopefully I’ll be totally recovered by then.
I had rotator cuff repair. My sling is called a shoulder cradle by DJO. It was very un comfortable and was a bitch to sleep with.

Yeah I trained under Jim Chaikong and worked with Carlos muchado a bit too. Would love to get back to it at some point. It was a great sport for a retired gymnast for sure! You ever compete? I did two competitions. Texas state championships as a white belt… took first. As a blue belt I got my ass handed to me by a 5 year blue belt. Down 17-0 points and then tapped out on a key lock. Humbling for sure.

I competed at every level through brown belt. Local events only - no IBJJF tournaments or anything like that. I did fairly well through blue belt. But the competitive life at purple belt and above was pretty sobering for a then 40+ year old competing against guys half my age!
Every now and then I think about competing at a Masters event or division. There’s a Seattle Open in August that’s IBJJF-certified. I’ll be out of town for it this year, but maybe one of these days …

Well getting of town was a little hecktic but the truck is loaded and we’re on the road.
We ordered about $30k of gymnastics equipment and have been waiting to get a ship date. I arranged to get off work by 5:30 yesterday to get everything ready to go. Just needed to work on the punch list… book hotels for the road, wash the truck, tire pressure checked, and the like.
The shipping company calls us at 5 and says the driver will be at the business at 10pm. Oh boy. I get some staff together to unload the semi trailer and of course he doesn’t show up till 11. Home by 12:30 and haven’t packed a thing yet.
We still managed to get on the road by 8 and will make it to Birmingham by about 7 tonight. Booked a nice two bedroom suite at Embassy suites so that should be nice.
Tomorrow we’re headed to Savannah and it should only be like a 5.5 hr drive day. We’re staying right on the river so shopping and food should be awesome.
Saturday morning well drive over to Hilton head and get the condo all set up for the week. I’m looking forward to some low country relaxation!
