Awesome.

ITT: ProX is a troll who started lifting because he is immature and wanted people to move out of his way?
That’s what I gathered. Wouldn’t surprise me either. Sad though.

I liked the chart bluecollartr8n posted in his thread. It basically showed that guys near 3 lbs/inch and lean looked incredible
Yeah, I liked that chart as well. Some extremely difficult, yet attainable goals to shoot for. And none of those guys added 80 lbs of muscle due to training.
I liked the discussion on the 80 lb rule for natty’s. Weird it didn’t hold me back from getting a good workout today either.

My personal experience.
I started out as a noob bulking from 175 to 220-225 lbs.
I can say I did not feel like I made progress or got stronger from it until I shed the weight and learned how to train instead of trying to increase my numbers every time I was in the weight room. I also really didn’t know how much I was eating until I was tracking my macros and feel I would of made more progress had I learned how to earlier.
I feel my bulk would have been more successful had I gotten those two factors down first but wonder if I would of really have made more progress by all out bulking or taking it more reasonably and cycling between 10 and 15 percent bodyfat.
Also my goals are more modest than yours, this being a physique I aspire to.
Damn, bro! You’re shredded!!! I’m trying to get like you! Haha

80 lb limit, my ass. Fuck interstitial muscle fat n shit!
SHUT UP AND LIFT, MOTHERFUCKERS!
My man SteelyD…I feel you, but I spent too long watching people bloviate and thunder through threads and get away with it. I reached my limit after 12 years.
I appreciate your reality checks around every 5 pages or so…lol.
When I first saw that CT vid you posted, I was like…Damn that dude is ripped and holy shit…who lifts in pants and a belt. hahaha

lol people not knowing the difference between correlation and causation

like I said in the other thread, CR and IF both improve insulin resistance… not necessarily the “weight loss” part

And I addressed this in the other thread.

I’d love to jump in, but first I’d like to see the data that has given him the impression that weight loss isn’t necessarily correlated with improved insulin sensitivity.
Has my father been able to get off of his diabetes medications not because of a 30 pound weight loss… but because of a broken glucose meter that continually shows his results to be within a healthful range??*
*Fun Fact: there is currently a recall on the OneTouch VerioIQ glucose meters due to their propensity to malfunction (i.e., shut off) when readings exceed 1,024 mg/dL. This is only a fun fact because I’d love to meet the people who have a glucose reading anywhere near that level (half that, even) who are not only NOT in a diabetic coma, but who are also so out of touch with their bodies that they don’t realize they need help ASAP.

Yeah, or missing fingers, toes, or legs!

But no science points to a direct relationship with insulin and fat gain. You can not say 1lbs of gain equals x amt of insulin resistance. Obesity is not the same as “:fat gain”. It is a condition that involves many factors.

Since you missed it the last time I posted it in response to this claim:
More specifically:
SCIENCE says:
ndocrine, inflammatory, and neuronal pathways link obesity to insulin resistance. (A) The obesity-associated increase in FAs can trigger insulin resistance through intracellular metabolites that activate PKC, leading to the activation of serine/threonine kinases that inhibit insulin signaling. (B) Obesity-associated changes in secretion of adipokines that modulate insulin signaling. (C) Obesity-associated inflammatory factors. Obesity is characterized by an increase in the accumulation of ATMs, which increase the adipose tissue production of inflammatory cytokines that inhibit insulin signaling. (D) Endocrine and inflammatory mediators converging on serine/threonine kinases that inhibit insulin signaling. (E) Obesity-associated activation of NF-κB heightens inflammatory responses that exacerbate insulin resistance. (F) SOCS family proteins, induced by adipokines, induce insulin resistance either by interfering with IRS-1 and IRS-2 tyrosine phosphorylation or by targeting IRS-1 and IRS-2 for proteosomal degradation. (G) FAs also trigger insulin resistance by direct activation of TLR4 and the innate immune response. (H) Obesity-related alteration in the central response to hormonal and nutrient signals alters peripheral insulin sensitivity.

It is a difference of semantics. What he is contending is the difference between saying “being leaner improves insulin sensitivity” and “getting leaner improves insulin sensitivity”. Whether it is the process of losing a pound or being a pound lighter that does it is inconsequential. Either way, losing fat improves insulin sensitivity.

I know, right?
But then, it’s always fucking startling how many people show up at the pharmacy and, being short of cash, decide to pay for their Adderall or clonazepam script and come back for their thyroid, diabetes or blood pressure meds “next paycheck”.
Some people really just have it coming.
You’ve been on a roll the past few threads, btw.
Thanks. ![]()
ZZzzzzzzSNORK!!!
Way to suck all the goddammed fun out of weight lifting
neuronal pathways link… x amt of insulin resistance… IRS-2 tyrosine phosphorylation…
inflammatory cytokines that inhibit… blah blah blah shut the fuck up and lift blah blah blah

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a thread so dedicated to shit that meant absolutely nothing with respect to training.
Why anyone would care, in a practical sense, whether someone can theoretically add 80 lbs of muscle to a body is about as senseless as anything I’ve read.
I managed to just about not think about that theoretical limitation the whole time I wreaked absolute havoc on my back today. In fact, in the fleeting moment that it did enter into my conscious, I immedately visualized two slabs of 50 lb lats hanging off of my spine. That was some monster shit right there.
Then, I rowed.
Theoretically add 80 lbs of muscle? Motherfucker, I’m gonna row this motherfucking heavy ass motherfucking weight 20 motherfucking times. And then do it again with more motherfucking weight. Then I’m gonna do it again. 50.mother.fucking.pound.slabs.of.beef.lats.hanging.off.my.spine.
I got your 80 lbs of muscle… Right here…
Can’t add 80lbs of muscle? WTF? IT’S STILL MY MOTHER.FUCKING.SET
Thank you CT Fletcher
You know who doesn’t give a fuck about whether a theoretical person can add a theoretical 80lbs of muscle? CT Motherfucking Fletcher and everyone else who hasn’t posted in this thread.
Quick, somebody start a thread about a theoretical homogeneous cube that models a 175 lbs person of indeterminate height and argue about how introducing a theoritical heterogeneous material will affect his theoretical insulin level so I can ignore that mother.fucking.thread, too.
