But, I don’t even agree completely with what you wrote here. You make it seem like someone who understands some fat may be gained has no interest in body image. “Body image” is SUBJECTIVE. We see it all of the time here. Guys who are super skinny and think they are really big.

Bodybuilding is all about body image…and the goals of the individual with that image.

It is simply understood that in interest of the long term goal, you don’t always get there looking like a fitness model the whole way without short changing your overall gains.

Would I get your strength levels as well? Because if so I would make that deal in a heartbeat. Magically 260 and way stronger. All I’d have to do is diet down hardcore; pretty sure I’d still be a lot stronger afterwards.[/quote]

fair enough. to each his own, it served the purpose i was looking for, which was to make those little steel balls go a few inches farther each day. depends on the persons goals and comfort level with themselves.

Which is all I have written.

It served a purpose…by helping you get big and strong enough to handle the kind of weight that allows you to look like now even after losing some weight.

It isn’t that anyone has a goal of looking like you at your heaviest. It is about understanding that for SOME people, it takes not looking ideal to reach the overall end goal especially if your goal is extreme on the level of your size or bigger.

I have no idea what your true bf% is, but his guess is probably pretty accurate. You have your shorts under your shorts hiked up to blunt the visual impact of your love handles, there’s very little definition to be seen anywhere, and your face literally has fat hanging off of it. Look at your cheeks and eyelids. You’ve obviously got mass on you, but you are also carrying a lot of fat on you too.

All the pics shown are way more recent than when I weighed that much in the military over 5 years ago…so why act like that was the end goal?
