The Best Sad Movies

Here’s a link if anyone wants to see it:

I’m not religious but the Passion of the Christ is the only movie where I’ve ever come close to sobbing.

Yeah, i also agree with American History X.

Another one i forgot is Last of the Mohicans. The part where his brother gets killed and the girl jumps over the cliff after he dies.

Also forgot A Time to Kill with Samuel Jackson and Matthew McGounahey(spelling?). One of the few movies i liked him in.

Sitting in the theater, watching “Titanic” with my children beside me, it was the scene where the poor mother is tucking her two children into their bed as the ship is sinking, knowing they are all going to die, but still staying strong and telling them a bedtime story about Tir na nog to help them fall asleep.

You really do.

Jurassic Bark

The Luck of the Fryrish

And this one because I thought is was hilarious.

Roswell That Ends Well

Those first two will leave you in tears.

I have that movie at home. I can’t watch it again. Happy ending be damned, I REALLY don’t like that scene where he’s driving along and the road suddenly gets bumpy and he gets out to check out what’s up.

I didn’t come close to crying, but the scene where Jesus is being tortured by the Roman soldiers made me cringe.

Especially where that hook thing digs into his side and pulls on the flesh.

I didn’t cry but when they were finally getting away on the bus, and the militia came down the road waving their machetes, and the rebels came out of the woods shooting those fuckers down with their AK’s that was the first time in a long time I wanted to jump up and cheer.

I liked that part too.

“Why is it the people who need the most help… won’t take it?”

Agree. I think everyone knows someone like that.

That’s my favorite movie.

The first movie that made me come closest to crying was The Lion King, the part where Mufasa died.

Watership Down got me all teared up as a kid.

It’s only recently that I found out Mufasa didn’t actually die…he’s just too busy posting on T-Nation to be the king of the animals

Yeah, me too.

It also freaked me out with the bunny violence, as it was totally unexpected.

A lot of scenes in the Lord of the Rings trilogy get me. The ones that celebrate honor and integrity. The one mentioned with Boromir is a good one.

Fucking Bridge to Terabithia. I can’t even watch it anymore; it’s too fucking sad. Every time the kid goes to the wake, and her dad says, ‘She loved you, Jess’ I almost weep like a baby. It takes Jedi levels of emotional control to remain composed.

Almost, hell!! I lost it in front of my wife. Uncontrollable. The Force was nowhere to be found that day.

Yep, that’s the case with me. Then again, I’ve been known to have difficulty controlling my emotions.

Passion of the Christ

When his mom Mary tries to help him carry the cross. Killed me!

To be fair, I almost cry when you die, as well. That whole ‘Look on you with my own eyes’ bit.

Thing is, the girl from Bridge makes me think of what I’d like my daughter to be like, if and when I have one. And stupid kid just left her because he had a crush on his teacher. Fuck, I might cry now.
