The Best Sad Movies

Anyone see Bridge to Terabithia? Yeah, it’s a kid’s movie…but I got really sucked in by the relationship of the boy and girl. I was absolutely floored when the boy came back from the museum with his teacher. I usually try and do the dude thing, and choke back any emotions during a movie, but good gosh, I was crying like a baby.
Man, same here! The producers of that movie made you fall in love with that girl. She had such a “joy of life” attitude.

I hate you guys. I just teared up a bit. Tell anyone and I cut your mothers.

Certain parts in Crash, including when the racist cop helps the black woman out of the flipped car.

Don’t know if anyones posted this, but I’ll say The Elephant Man. I was about ten when I saw that and darn near cried when he tried to sleep like man at the end and died.

Fucking Bridge to Terabithia. I can’t even watch it anymore; it’s too fucking sad. Every time the kid goes to the wake, and her dad says, ‘She loved you, Jess’ I almost weep like a baby. It takes Jedi levels of emotional control to remain composed.

Almost, hell!! I lost it in front of my wife. Uncontrollable. The Force was nowhere to be found that day.

Yep, that’s the case with me. Then again, I’ve been known to have difficulty controlling my emotions.

To be fair, I almost cry when you die, as well. That whole ‘Look on you with my own eyes’ bit.

Thing is, the girl from Bridge makes me think of what I’d like my daughter to be like, if and when I have one. And stupid kid just left her because he had a crush on his teacher. Fuck, I might cry now.
Yeah, I have to admit I still find my death scene a little sad still, but it was worse when I was younger.

I mentioned this earlier in the thread about Bridge, but I was already teary when Leslie dies, but when Jess pushes his younger sister, I completely lost it.

Titanic
The Notebook
Braveheart
Man on Fire
IRobot
There are to many to name, then again I may me to damn sensitive, I still get choked up when simba loses his dad in the “Lion King” and the season premiere of The Terminator when Cameron is begging John to not take her chip out had me tearing up.

Strange. I always kinda wanted to hit Maybelle in the face with a stick. Different strokes, I suppose.

Well, she reminded me a lot of my younger sister at that age and I was kind of mean to my sister growing up (just normal sibling stuff, but still), so it just made me sad.

Ah. I don’t have a sister. That must be it.

The Luck of the Fryrish doesn’t leave me crying but certainly weirdly emotional. The song at the end was probably the best ending to an episode ever.

Infernal affairs left me severly drained. Just horrifically depressing. Not in a bittersweet way. Not in a life-redeeming way. Just really, really, depressing.

I remember my dad crying in Deep Impact…lol

I remember when I saw that in the theater, the scene where the parents give their baby to Leelee Sobieski’s character cause they know they aren’t going to get away in time, I remember hearing people around me ‘sniffling’.

I was sitting there thinking, “Is it cold in here? Does everyone have allergies or something?” It took a minute for me to realize that people were crying. It is an emotional scene. I was just being dense.

Grave of the Fireflies

Forrest Gump, when he talks over Jenny’s grave and tells her about his son

The end of Blood Diamond where Archer looks out of the landscape, grabs the red soil in his hands while telling Maddie in his final moments he’s exactly where he’s supposed to be.

My Dog Skip. Don’t know why. I guess just the timeless story of a boy and his Dog.

I just fucking remembered one… and you’re all going to be pissed that you forgot it.

Big Fish!

requiem of a dream.
damn sad movie.

Hey tough guy… I said this days ago. (smiles) Great movie, I think I blubbered for an hour after it ended. But I had just lost my father-in-law.
