Day early, have very long day of driving ahead of me. Today was a very good session, I said fuck the mis-weighed log I am gonna kick some ass today.

5.5lbs heavier than my unfortunate long standing 1rm on log push press from 2019. Long road to get to this point where I am progressing normally on pressing lifts but I think I am finally driving on smoother roads. Funny enough though, 3 years to the day I broke through my initial glass ceiling with pressing. Still needs a lot of work, but getting there.

Yeah I usually feel like I am not at my best right off a deload. I don’t know if that means I am overdoing the deload, if it’s just where I am at fitness wise, or that’s just how it is.

Have you thought about maybe doing dynamic block for the Deload? So 50/55/60% weeks?
I have been just playing it ear recently since i don’t have alot of hard numbers to base off of. I Try to get some reps in in the ballpark of 50-65%. i.e for my Deadlift session, I did a 3 x 3 at 315, some squats with 135 and a very small amount of machine pump work. The squats being not sure where I stand at all so I just kept super light

Impulsively signed up for Strength games in the District in October. It’s effectively the next iteration of Strength Games at the Bar. Run by the same dude, on the same day, just a different venue. He has stated a desire to keep trying to push the sport of strongman in this area and I am here for it. The log is only 10 lbs heavier than Monsters, so I don’t think it’s out of reach. Monsters Log is tad of a stretch, but I am trying and I feel like 235 will definitely be there in October.
The most interesting thing to me is the deadlift medley. “Athlete will have a bar set on top of 3 two inch blocks, at lock out 1 block will be pulled out until the bar is on the ground. Athlete will then rep out the weight from the ground. heights will be 15" 13" 11" 9". 60second time limit. straps and deadlift suits ARE allowed." I feel like being able to start at 15” inches and work down in one set is a cool way to do a medley and has some interesting implications of how it can be done as long as you get that first rep.
