It’s fine, dude. Debating people online is like at the bottom of what’s important haha. Feel free to respond whenever you get the energy.
No one in Ireland gives a shit anymore. Its more of a “are you an atheist protestant or an atheist catholic”.
My Da was an irish immigrant and when ive been back to derry to see our family its become another neoliberal rootless society just like everywhere else. My newphew married a protestand no one gives a shit.
So they’re sending him back to the same place he’s accused of keeping girls against their will to run a webcam business?
Haha
Hahahaha
His house arrest sounds more fun than mine would ever be.
Parrrrttyyyyyyyyy!
Given his inability, as an attention whore, to not incriminate himself on social media, he’ll probably use the rope he’s given.
Saw a clip that accurately reflects the Tate condition IMO. I’ve tried saying this a few times before, but how it’s said here is done better.
TL;DW: Tate is a symptom of the problem, not the source.
*Not the cleanest language.*
Maybe, but Tate isn’t the cure either. He’s good at making frustrated and angry young men stay frustrated and angry. He also gives them someone to blame which is ironic.
He isn’t, but he brings/brought attention to the issue. I liken his presence to Trump… flamboyant, inflammatory, notorious, and great at taking the ‘makeup’ off society.
The “cure”? Not in the slightest. But putting the spotlight on the problem is a step in the right direction IMO. Can’t fix what you can’t see.
Jordan Peterson did it before Tate. Camille Paglia did it before Tate. He’s just the less, much less, intellectual and educated version. And unlike those who came before him, his motives are self serving, be it his ego or his bank account.
Sure, but neither Peterson nor Paglia could command the attention of a virtually *castrated Gen Z. Hell, millennials didn’t even pay attention to Paglia.
They were more correct on their methods and reasons, but lacked branding. Getting the attention of 15-25 year olds to be focused on anything other than porn and Call of Duty is a tall order.
Good point.
This is the problem that Dr. Stephen Baskerville and Dr. F. Roger Devlin stated. Although Paglia is a feminist and I don’t think Peterson can be nailed down as a stereotypical conservative, their approaches are soft, and they do not know how to deal with their opposition. The same goes for conservatives, who have a knack for blaming men for all the transgressions by women against them.
Devlin actually wrote in an article in which he reviewed Baskerville’s book, The New Politics of Sex, “conservatives have been putting men to sleep.” As per conservatives, men’s problems are their fault, and women’s problems or misdoings are also their fault. What a deal! He also said that conservatives get nowhere with this issue because they are fearful of stooping to the level of or being called radicals. I agree with this. They are not interested in bringing about actual change or making history.
Which is funny given that Tate made money off that group with what was essentially porn. The problem with Tate is that he is a phony, a social media creation. He can’t fix anything as he is out of his depth in that regard. But he only cares about attention and money so it doesn’t matter to him.
Sure, the true intellectuals may come off as soft but they offer solutions. Even Jocko, who isn’t soft, offers solutions. One problem is that these solutions require accountability and self reflection. It’s easier to just whine and believe the odds are against you. Tate creates a culture or mindset that is grievance based. It’s the easy way out. His signs of success are vapid and ultimately will be unfulfilling. There’s a reason why a man his age is unmarried and childless. He projects the image of someone in a state of permanent adolescence. The so called soft approach offers hard solutions. Tate cares what others think, the soft approach teaches to care about how you perceive yourself.
Because he’s worth $300 million, is immenseley famous, relatively attractive, and can bring multiple new women into bed with him each night?
+1 for accountability, but also as @BrickHead mentioned - the problem only affects men, and the only ones who care about the problem are likewise men. The solution (or part of it, at least) is for accountability for oneself, but applied to BOTH men and women. No system can work without accountability.
I agree with many of your criticisms of Tate, for the record - I just don’t think we can singularly blame him for these problems.
I believe that this whole scenario will be self-corrected, not by some Manospherian or political upheaval.
Those who want to screw around, live thrilling lives, have high time preferences, and those who cannot get their act together or unfortunately cannot attract someone (incels) will mostly die off. People who have low time preferences, are disciplined, and future oriented (conservative in a literal sense) will live.
Unfortunately a lot of damage has happened and will happen until this comes to pass.
He’s not worth close to that. Elon Musk has much more money and he is, or was, married and has kids.
I don’t blame Tate for creating any problems. He’s just another con man.
You pretty much describe being an adult. And these are the kinds of people who build civilizations.
Like all those biological males that are having babies? ![]()
Tate is worth maybe $50 million if that’s what you believe. This is more than 99% of men.
Tate is clearly the type who wants many women, and he has access to many women. Musk doesn’t want many women, so he doesn’t have many women. So what is your point with Musk in this case?
Yup. ![]()
There likely is a genetic component to this as well. So nature and nurture might take care of this. Natural future orientation and inspiring offspring to follow a parents footsteps in family formation might result in a stronger future population as those without these traits go extinct.
I’m just speculating though.
Those who just want thrills and fun generally don’t care about having children, which is why they make such fusses about abortion and birth control (obviously topics for other discussions that I don’t go into detail about here) and look at the opposite sex as little more than masturbation tools. They want sterile sex. Unfortunately much of the 2.0 Manosphere is made up mostly of such men; and many seem utterly crazy!
That’s correct.
