Haha well im not exactly in contest prep right now, its merely carb cycling, with light caloric restriction, and no cardio. So the changes are minimal. Plus i figured people were done with me.
Also, i re-agitated my biceps tendon. I had rested it two days, with icing and wrapping. It felt good, so i went into the gym. I eased into my Delt day, but unfortunately let my ego get the best of me, and trying to get 120s up for military pressing on an incline bench pulled it again, had felt fine up to then. So, if you include my leg day, im taking 5 days of (Wed= legs, Thurs= Off, Sun= Off, taking fri and sat off) with constant icing and compression.
Honestly though, i do think things are looking a bit better. So maybe ill throw something up in a bit, lemme rest up and get back into the swing of things first tho.
Did you re adjust your carb intake yet? or you sticking with the original numbers for your low, med and high days for a while longer?

Yes, tweaked a bit.
high days- approx 3.6k cal, 400c
Med days- approx 3.4k cal, 300c
Low days- approx 2.8k cal, 200C
It feels good, feels like its working. as i was saying, im seeing more lines. And the weight isnt dropping, so things are going nice and steady. Up until december, that is lol.
Fucking itchin to get back in the gym right now. My arm feels good. Ive been constantly keeping it wrapped up and iced, as im alternating between ice packs. Been testing things, getting no feelings of pain, tweaks, peeps, pulls, yoinks, anything. And with the recent olympia in the back of my mind, my desire for THAT body has been rekindled. I plan on working slowly back, giving myself a couple days of gym work, working with lighter weights just to be sure that everything is fine. Monday i return to my home away from home, to my sanctuary, my prison.
And though the finish line is still no where in sight, i feel myself running the right way, on the right track. The thought of people running circles in a race, or the opposite direction is laughable…but is it really so unbelievable when you dont really know where to run? Take a look in the gym, and you’ll see what i mean. Look at the faces of people, look at their toils, and look at their results. Some have regressed, some have not made an inch of progress in months, or years. What we do day in, day out, what we strive for, what we look to achieve with every moment we spend measuring this, or lifting that is a struggle we place upon ourselves, with our thoughts fixated on an end result. Lose sight of the beacon, and lose yourself in an ocean of false information and folly.
that’s why competing in something is so damn important. It keeps one focused and driven. mamy say that you don’t have to compete to be a bodybuilder or powerlifter. i don’t agree. the actual preparation to compete is what makes one a bodybuilder or powerlifter. otherwise you are just lifting weights. lifting weights is easy. getting big is easy. getting strong is easy. the hard part is bringing it all together to be your personal best all at one moment in time at the right time. that’s the essence of both sports.

Your front delts really seemed like a strong bodypart for you in that first year college pic.Did you increase your volume of pressing that you were doing around that time?Actually I remember some impressive pressing numbers that were posted somewhere. My pressing sucks big time.My levers dont help but do you have any tips that helped you increase you bench and shoulder strength?
Heres a different pic i took at the time to give you an idea of my front delt. It was honestly my biggest deltoid at the time, as i did very minimal focus on my rear head, and little focus on my lateral head. Im very happy to say that i changed that. My lateral head is much larger, as i always throw in 2 focused lateral movements along with my major compound movement for delt day, and my rear almost matches my front.
So a word to the Wise- Dont be a Noob. When it comes to Delts, Your side head needs the most work, and your rear has to balance your front.
Crazy front delts!
Thanks Brick. yea i think ive pretty much balanced it out these days tho, though my rear could use a bit more size, my front does not completely shadow my delt, and my lat head is exponentially larger.

Heres another one of those old pics that shows very well the disproportional size of the front head compared to the rest of the delt.
Lol these pics are making me nostalgic…ahhh to be 180 again…
I always hit my sides, then rear, and lastly front heads. Watch videos of amateur shows, and see how many competitors lose some of their ‘impressive’ delts when they turn to the side relaxed shots. It really is so important to get that rear delt ‘pop’. I actually always try to pop it out when I hit a side chest shot, thinking it just makes the arm more impressive as well as make you look thicker up top.

Oh i hear you. I dont even do isolated front head movements every week. I may throw them in every 2-3 rotations. Whereas my rear delt is going to be getting 2 movements a session atleast, not to mention what secondary work it might get through upper back movements, like face pulls/pendlay rows, on Back day.
Since ive started doing the targetted upper back work, i have noticed a huge difference in the pop i have going on in my upper back. My traps, my rear delts, everything seems fuller and larger.
Got back into the gym today. Felt absolutely fantastic. Did a weight check, sitting at 250 right now, but i feel a lot leaner. I kept things a lot lighter, higher reps, just to ensure my BR didnt strain again. Had some tremendous pumps going on in my chest and calves today. Also started taking Abs/serratus a bit more seriously. All can be seen in a moment when i update my training Log.
On a side note, im sure everyone has pulled a muscle at one point or another, right? You’re sitting there, and all of a sudden, your hamstring tightens up. You get up, squeal a little bit, and in a few moments it goes away, no big deal. Lol well, today while i was doing an ab machine, all of a sudden, my right side of my abs tightened up. I felt the whole thing contract and curl up. I was truly amazed at how it felt. it didnt hurt, and i actually laughed in astonishment, but just kinda felt like telling somebody lol.
Dude Ab cramps are the worst, I hate those! Not to mention you look completely ridiculous trying to stretch your abs leaning really far back, haha.

Haha it was the first time its ever happened. I mean, my ham is the only thing thats ever cramped on me, and i think its only happened once or twice. but when it happened to my ab, the first few secs i freaked out. I was like ‘Oh shit, what if my abs tear,’ lol by after like 10secs, i was simply amazed by it all, feeling it, adjusting my body, breathing via my chest as to minimize the strain i was putting on it…it was just amazing, i kinda liked it haha.
I’ve had ab cramps before, but truly the worst for me was a quad cramp I had one time. I still remember, because it was during preseason for football in 8th grade (before I realized I was too skinny for that)… I was cooling off in the pool, went to put my right leg on the step, and then BAM! My friend literally had to pull me out of the water, I’ve never quite had any pain like it. It was remarkable.
Wxhat your takes on fruits? Not just bananas for both cutting and bulking

eh, unnecessary sugar. Especially when cutting, i look at it this way- regardless of how good you think it is, energy is energy. Sugar is a quick burning fuel and it wont sustain you for long, which is absolutely counterproductive when cutting.
When bulking, you have free reign to eat what you want when you want, and if chowing down blueberries like they’re going out style ‘gets you off’ because you think you “need to get” your antioxidants, go nuts. hell, id often either throw raisins into my oatmeal, as they were a decent, quick way of tossing in approx 40carbs, or pound some OJ, which i would use to drink Superfood powders.
When cutting, bananas is the only fruit i will have, and even then, that window closes before lunch.
