Yeah, dude I don’t care. Like genuinely don’t care, but apparently you do.
How much do you squat?

My guess is probably a few pounds more than those in the Harvard Law group. It sounds like more in pounds because the kilograms don’t get out of the double digits.
Ya’ll should compare salaries a well ![]()
I doubt that would end favorably, but if we’re breaking out rulers… we should start with squat depth ![]()
Is this a pissing match?
Show some humility. Some class. Some curiosity and kindness - that’s what I care about. Care about not spreading false information. Care about facts. Never stop educating yourself. Then I’ll care that your a cool guy, an asset to society, and if your strong on top of being respectful, I’ll share your joy when you achieve a pR. Ditch the arrogance. I care more that anyone reading your “strong opinion with no information” doesn’t blindly believe it. If I make an error, I’m happy to own it. Learn and hopefully be better for it. I’m 54 recent squat 425/2, current deadlift: 500/3, last bench 335, but was more stoked to bench 255/12. So what? A man’s character is more than his physical strength.
There is probably no more imprecise science than the science of building muscle. There are few facts, and mostly just theories. The human body down regulates about every “best” scientific training program, if there actually is one.
Yes, never stop educating yourself, but never believe you have the “facts.” Have you ever wondered if the “false information” became acceptable practice?
As old as you are, based on your comments, you are too young to have seen the evolution of the science of muscle building.
I know this is totally not the point of this post, but I seriously hope I’m doing this well at 54. Kudos to you sir
Interesting that this is coming from the person who made an account just to argue with me over semantics to a point we probably agree on.
I do, if you’ll read above - I’ve already written my criticisms about the Harvard study you had mentioned. If you’d spent any time on these forums, i think you’d have seen I’ve got a half decent history of posting credible training advice. My argument was always from a point of [if you take your seat belt off while driving, you’re probably going to drive a bit more carefully], not from a statistical standpoint as others have clearly taken it. I suppose I could have used a different argument or worded it differently, but the point is not irrelevant.
As I’ve said before, I’m happy to talk training but have no interest in continued debate over the accuracy of a supporting argument.
Nice PRs. Welcome to the forums.
So do I need to wear a seatbelt whilst trap bar deadlifting or not?
Yes.
And no trap bar power cleans.
Thank you. If you stay respectful of your recovery time I’m sure you will !
Cheers
Thanks Andrew and I look forward to learning and sharing with you all here.
Cheers
Absolutely!!!
Read the whole thread. Please! And see the context to which you are erroneously commenting. It’s not about the ever evolving science of muscle building. At all. Andrew made an erroneous comment about seatbelt laws. I provided 3 separate peer reviewed studies disproving his “strong opinion with no information” and the empirical knowledge indicates the opposite of what he claimed is true. That is all.
science as a whole is constantly updating what is accepted as true when new data shows otherwise.
Stay safe.
I’ve found the most dangerous exercise for me is running…my mouth
Damn, who would have thought that could happen on the leg press. I have a habit of doing just that. Thanks for that.
