Why bother?
I’d much prefer to shave a few years off the tail end of my life and continue feasting on animal flesh.
There’s evidence you CAN do it, but I’ll reiterate, why?
Why is there a widespread assumption that being vegetarian is actually healthy/better for you? IMO that mindset is a lot more dangerous than the “soy is good for you” that people here hate. Especially since it causes people who aren’t necessarily vegetarians to eat less meat and more starches.

He’s 6’5" and bodybuilding-wise has very modest musculature. What’s so fucking amazing?
A. he isn’t huge for being 6’5
B. He started this diet LAST YEAR, so didn’t build shit while being a vegan.
C. he still eats meat just “less”
Umm… he’s not vegan, he eats fish and chicken. He just stopped eating junk food. If he starting eating red meat again but didn’t go back to the junk food he’d probably find that he’d be better off in every way.
Guys stop being skeptical. No matter what you may think, this is amazing, because…umm… because…SAVE THE ANIMALS!!!
lol.

Yeah really. I didn’t even read the article but I seen the video of him drinking a “high protein vegan shake”. Who the hell cares really, if he’s taking high protein he’s going to build msucle. Strength isn’t even what he is focused on, like a lineman or linebacker. But i agree, he is saving the animals!! haha

I laughed out loud when I saw this.
This is misleading. Vegies are good, but they aren’t THE food to eat.

I know you’re being objective, but is it even that certain that meat eaters are shaving anything off their longevity? I think a balanced diet is far more effective and healthy than all this veg-nonsense.
I didn’t know one could get fish oil from plants… live and learn.

I get my fish oil from birds. Birds have more fish oil than fish. It’s science, some guy told me, hahahaha!
All I have to say is… that’s cute… now where’s my dead cow?
"WSJ.com: What are the benefits of a vegetarian or vegan diet for athletes?
Ms. Dorfman:Vegan or vegetarian diets are plant-based, which means they are generally proportionally high in carbohydrates. You always need carbohydrates for energy. Plant-based diets or vegan diets are very low in fats. Fats are very slow fuels to use for any type of exercise. The plant-based diet is ideal because it’s generally high in complex carbohydrates, low in fats and low in cholesterol – if not cholesterol-free. Cholesterol is only found in animal products."
Whaaa-what??

You can. Not sure if it’s commercially available yet, but it is a GE (genetic engineering) project.
