7x160, project max = 197…climbing each week!
195 for a single tonight…30 lb to go
Have done 170kg/375lbs strict with full grip… Find overhead pressing is directly proportional to gains in my bench so I try and press OH once every 4 day training cycle.
took a break from standing OH … back in it as of three weeks ago. At 210x1 now and expecting 225 before my birthday (10/16).

It’s good to know that someone really strong feels the same way. I also had fewer shoulder problems since incorporating standing overhead barbell pressing. For some reason, the seated version is murder on my shoulders unless I use a neutral grip with dbs.
Got 205 earlier this week. 5lb PR.

This is fucking incredible…
I think the key is that in a seated press you can’t allow flexion of the spine without changing the angle through the sagittal plane (side on) into a more high incline press and therefor you reduce the shoulder activation and increase the stress on the muscles of your rotator cuff…just a thought,

for anything you’d like to share, I’m all ears
I’ll join this. I’m taking a break from bench pressing due to shoulder issues and I realized my MP is weak as shit. I did 175x3 at 240 pounds.
How are your guys numbers on your bench comparing to your MP? I was wondering if MP should be a certain percentage of your bench? I could probably max out at 190-195 on MP and my max bench is 335. This is about 57%
My bench is 250 and MP is 165. 66%.

thanks. could we get some more guys posting this information? I want to see if there is an average.
Im around 60%
175/300=.58
My bench is 320 and MP is 225, about %70 of my bench
My military press is approximately 150-160. My bench is 250 in the gym, 248 competition.
60-64% of my bench.
