The 225 Military Press Quest

Its really helped me as well, out of curioisty does anybody have an opinion on why a MP isnt reveared as much as the big three and not included in many PL comps. Maybe Im wrong? Ive seen the APA have MP as part of their meets, and in a larger sense it seems IMO it should be included with big holy grails of lifting (DL, Squat, Bench)

It’s too difficult to judge. People were bending so far back that it was basically a standing bench press.

I hit 235 in February for a single. Not sure why I went straight up and bypassed the two plates, but maybe it helped me avoid the mental barrier of exactly 225 haha. Not sure what I’m at now, but I’d like to get a bodyweight press (you know, after I get 236). Current BW is about 270.

Thanks man! Looks like you’re prretty close too…its even more impressive that you got 210x2 while standing on the wall…my wall standing sideways press is only 210x1!

Thanks VT, I may go for 225 in 2 weeks, we shall see.

I will be testing my max at the end of the juggernaut program im using now, either end of july or late august if I take a few weeks to work up to heavier weight. Did 220 about 8-10 months ago, so I certainly hope I’ve gone up a lousy 5 lbs since then, haha. Recent rep PRs include 195x5, 185x7 (in March) and 165x12 (earlier this morning)

Got 225 for two singles yesterday, vids in my log. They were insanely ugly reps, not sure if I wanna count em yet lol. On the other hand, I weighed in at 224, so they were BW+1 presses.

May have got 215x1, but I might of pushed it a bit, if you want check out my log and lmk what you think.

Got 2 new PR’s withing the same session last night.

97.5kg/215lb x5 and 102.5kg/225lb x2

Hoping for a 250lb effort in a few weeks

Just got 225x2 yesterday. First time I OHP since January. Yay for incline bench!

You guys are awesome. Great work. I got 135 two months ago and today got 155. Quick question, though. I notice most of your heads are neutral, but mine is always looking straight up when I press. Does this matter or should I change head placement?
