I’m one of the few proud lefties on these forums, but even I am repulsed by your disrespect.
I agree with much that you say regarding needless US involvement around the world. But this thread was nothing more than a respectful remembrance and thanks to those who fought and died (and still continue to do so) for causes that they may not necessarily agree with, yet do their duty regardless.
Can you at least PLEASE respect the nature of this thread’s intent, if not those whom this thread is dedicated?
Please?
I just wanted to make a post thanking the veterans for protecting us and our freedooms to give us the ability to live in the greatest country in the world. I read the next paragraph in an article and it sums up how I feel.
You serve and fight for the greatest Nation in the history of civilization. There has never been a grievous wrong that good Americans have not sought to rectify. There has never been a just cause on which America has turned her back for long. You, our soldiers, have been and continue to be, the greatest force for freedom and human rights ever gathered. You have raised our flag around the world, not for domination, but to bring greater liberty and a better way of life. You are the reason America remains a beacon of hope to the entire world.
You seek neither glory nor riches, nor even fame. You are our best, our brightest, our bravest. Please always know that even when we don’t show it, we love you. We appreciate you. We thank you. And we will never forget you or forsake you.
As I said I do not shit over all of these threads, but how could I possibly not shit all over this?
edit: “Beacon of hope for the entire world”. Hell, yes we look to the “greatest nation on earth” to send “the greatest force for freedom” to “rectify our wrongs”. Not to “dominate us”, oh no, to bring “greater liberty and a better way of live”.
I mean Jesus, hell no.
Bonus point for " greatest force for freedom and human rights ever gathered". Id say life is a pretty basic human right but maybe that is just me?
