Thank you very much for your continued push for bodybuilding and your assault on manorexia. I am without a doubt a former manorexic myself: When I first discovered T-mag I started a high volume weights and sprinting program whilst following JB’s “Don’t Diet Diet” - at the time I weighed 176lbs at 6"2 (almost). I wanted abs - I didn’t realise that my abs were poor because I wasn’t even eating enough to build any dam abdominals!!
At the end of last summer I slowly started to realise my problem and started to “bulk” a little bit. I figured that it wouldn’t matter if I did this for a few weeks because nobody would notice any fat gain in winter and I had the firm intention of cutting ASAP!
I started to like the changes I saw in my physique but I still wanted to cut and get really ripped (a word that now I don’t think should be used unless the person in question carries a lot of muscle). I kept reading Prof X’s rants, which were often supported by many other people too - I apologise for not naming you but you know who you are and I’m grateful to you too (does that sound a bit too much like the Oscars?).
I got caught by the bodybuilding bug (not the prick curling in the squat rack) and carried on bulking. I was no longer such a miserable bastard on a calorie restricted diet too. I am starting to realise that EVERYTHING Prof X said in his rants was correct. I’ve reached 204lbs now and don’t want to cut anytime soon - in fact I’m going to continue trying to lift bigger weights and eating over 4500 calories all the way through the summer.
I love having some size now - people can tell that I lift weights when I’m wearing clothes. I feel so much more confident in all aspects of my life too. Yes, my abs aren’t too visible at the moment but girls aren’t impressed by abs when they first meet a guy. When you first meet a girl, if they haven’t got X-ray vision they often can’t even tell whether or not a guy has abs. What is this obsession with abs?!? I do know that a girl was impressed last saturday when I picked her up and carried her to my bedroom. I also wasn’t expecting any girl to put her hand on me when we were dancing and say oh my god its so hard, but have her referring to my leg. Well it happened a couple of weeks ago!
This can all be summed up by saying thanks to anybody that has helped to show me the bodybuilding light.
Cheers!
