I don’t know much about Jefferson, but a quick google search showed, that these pirates were harassing American commerce in the Mediterranean. By the way, why do you think America gave Marshall aid? You obviously are new to finnish history. I’ll give you a crash course of wartime history.
On the 26.11.1939 The Soviet Union claimed that 13 of it’s soldiers where killed in Finnish artilleryfire near a place called Mainila. There weren’t finnish artillery within reach during that time. As you can guess, The soviets declared war. By the way, Boris Jeltsin admitted 1998, that Soviet Union had steged the attack.
Finland got plenty of sympathy from the Allied. That’s nice. The winter war was short and ended with loss of territory. Finland sought feverishly for military help and Germany was the only country to give it. The war continued with a war that is aptly named the continuation war.
The good thing is, that Finland was not overrun by the soviets, the bad thing was the loss of territory for good, and the decision of the war tribunal. Not unexpectedly, Finland was found guilty. For that we have at least partly to thank you.
You shouldn’t take a little bit of criticism of your governments actions so personally. You aren’t personally responsible for them, not even if you wanted to.

We are all very proud of the Belgian troops and wish all three of them the very best!! I didn’t make up any lies about WMD. And while George Bush is not exactly my idea of the greatest Commander in our history, I don’t believe for a minute that he lied either. Seems the information used to make those decisions (re:WMD) was given to a lot of folks who all seemed to believe it. And while I may not agree with all of the decisions made since we became involved in the war or with the way it seems to be playing out, I certainly don’t think we need to defer our decision making to a bunch of whiny piss ant’s from Belgium or Finland just because they think we are “villains” or that our super power is “bullshit”.
