Testosterone / Sodium Valproate Interactions

Anyone else taking Sodium Valproate (aka Depakote, Epilim, etc), in my case for epilepsy?

Apparently it inhibits a few enzymes, including CYP3A4 [1], which is apparently the main enzyme that metabolises testosterone (and many other drugs) in the liver [2] [3]. AIUI, this potentially means a longer half-life and higher levels for a given dose (because your body can’t excrete it so quickly).

150 mg/wk of test cyp got my total T to 2600, currently on 85/wk and sitting around 1000 so maybe this explains my response to TRT.

Would be interested to know if anyone else has experienced similar results?
