Testosterone Results

47 year old. Testosterone toatl was 183. Testosterone free was 41.0.
What do I need to do?

Do you have your full labs? If so post everything and several people will chime in.

Get on HRT/TRT asap. Also post the rest of your test results.

Do not go to any endo or urologist. Waste of time.

Google ‘anti-aging clinic’ and choose. I use renewman and they are quite good.

Go and give blood before commencing HRT. Watch your hematocrit and hemaglobin.

Buy a good vitamin product, like Animal Pak. Take at least one pak every day.

Exercise at least 6 days per week, with lots (and lots) of cardio. Lift heavy but realize that heart health is now more important.

There…that kind of sums up 5 years of HRT experience.

He wants to put me on Androgel, 3 pumps a day.

Go the route Headhunter recommended or see Dr Crisler. Trust us it’s worth the money and absolutely avoid a family Dr, endo, or a uro. Total waste of time and poor knowledge in general.

Did you have SHBG, Free T, and E2 tested? If not these can be very helpful.

I would skip the Androgel. I’ve yet to read of one person that used it successfully for long term treatment or even got their T levels to an acceptable level. If you’d like to use a transdermal go with a 5% compounded T cream. You rub a small amount on your forearms and it absorbs like crazy. 75mg took me up to 1200 T level. Also the cream is much more pleasant to use than androgel. I switched to injections just for convenience. You have to use HCG unless you want your nuts to disappear. Also you’ll need some amount of Adex to keep E2 in check.

Beware if you use a trandermal at your T level. If you do you’re going to get a massive response for about 5 days. This response is a dopamine rush going from poor T levels to upper range in the span of a day. The effect wears off and it can’t be sustained. You’ll feel better long term but you can’t maintain the “high” you’ll get from starting treatment.

Are all the numbers in range? Adjust appropriately as you go along.

Your hematocrit and hemaglobin are good numbers, but watch them. If hematocrit goes much above 50%, your blood is becoming too ‘thick’ and risk of stroke increases exponentially. I’m at 56% so I reduced my dose. Don’t let hemaglobin go above 18.
