Testosterone for Sex Drive?

I am 24 years old for the last two years I have had no libido or sex drive whatsoever. I hardly ever get morning wood. On the rare occasion that I can get an erection it does not stay hard for long.

I am also really tired all the time despite getting 8 - 9 hrs sleep every day and have motivational issues with things like work etc.

Without viagra and cialis I cant have sex at all. The only problem is that those drugs do not deal with the issue of desire at all. I had a very high sex drive up until I was 22, and then it just dropped off to nothing. Nothing at all.

I have tried every over the counter T-booster and libido suppliment around, even bought from this site. None gave me any results whatsoever.

I cant live with this limp dick and no desire anymore, I might as well cut it off, it has gotten beyond frustrating. Would injecting testosterone in some form or another fix this problem?

I had a blood test done, results were: free T scored 360 points out of possible 1100, bound T 1050 points out of possible 1400.

Help please

What does your diet look like? I know the question sounds odd, but if for some reason you’re on a ridiculously low fat diet it can wreck havoc on your hormone levels. Other than that I have no idea.

Talk to your doctor about it. Ask for a referral to see an endocrinologist.

FWIW, I got tennis elbow in my jerk off arm on 500mg Test/wk.

I’m serious.

ckallander, I take 15 - 30 fish oil caps per day (1 gram each), so I doubt fat consumption is the problem. Thanks for the input though.

rrjc5488, the doc reffered me for blood tests, then told me that as I was young he wouldnt prescribe me anything - even viagra etc! I have to get to get it from other sources. I have gone to a new doc who has sent me for another blood test, pending how that goes hopefully he will be more receptive to sending me to see an endocrinologist.

So the test really did up your sex drive? I assume when you cycle off your libido drops accordingly?

Another point I should mention, my aggression levels are also non-existent. Things that should, and used to make me angry just dont even change my mood. Im talking major things like crashing my car! People grabbing the ass of my (now ex)gf, and I couldnt even care less.

All these are symptoms of low T but the docs here dont seem to care or want to help. I have the free T level of a 40yr old man according to my initial blood test. Im 25 FFS! Its not right!

First off happy birthday, as you have gone from 24 to 25 today. jk
Hopefully you get to see and endo, but in the meantime you have to get your head straight.
Stop putting so much pressure on yourself, and looking to deep into this.

Your stressing yourself out over this and it is only making the problem worse, you really need to relax and not think about you inability and just let shit happen. Easier said than done, but I had similiar issues after a cycle and realized I was just putting too much pressure on my 1 eyed monster. Good luck either way…

so get a new doctor…the following labs should be run AS A MINIMUM

total t
free t
e2 estradiol
cbc
ast alt liver

Ok cheers guys, I got another blood test booked, will come back with the results once I get them

You should PM KSman or at least read some on the over 35 forums. KSman has a great deal of knowledge in this area and will inform you on which tests should be run before your next appointment. Insist that your doc runs these tests!

It is obvious that you have issues that need to be worked out and I don’t think that running a cycle or getting a script for viagra is the answer at all. Have you used anything with finasteride, like propecia or proscar? Make sure to test your thyroid as well - your SHBG could be a sign of an out of whack thyroid.

T is necessary but not sufficient for a good sex life. DHT is actually more critical. And E levels need to be in a favorable range, not too high or too low. Your T is low and E is probably lower too, but the ratio could be leaving you E dominant.

All of your steroid hormones could be low. Testing DHEA-S will show if that might be low and rate limiting T production.

Your other comments suggest hypothyroidism. Test TSH, fT3, fT4. If your body does not react well to major stress/conflict, then you need to test cortisol levels; best as a 4 sample saliva test on a typical stressful day, not on a kick back weekend!

To resolve what is going on, you will also need to test LH and FSH.

Are you getting enough iodine? Using iodized salt? Sea salt is not a source of iodine unless the package states that it has iodine added. Low thyroid levels are associated with low testosterone. Both conditions share a cluster of common symptoms, including low libido.

If steroid hormones are a primary cause of your problems, some depression and other mental effects are to be expected. These in turn can affect libido.

Cialis and such help with the mechanics of erections. But if libido is poor, these drugs will do nothing. Desire needs to be there first.

Ok just a quick update, I found a new doc and had the tests done, but the doc wouldnt give me the exact numbers! As such I will not be going back to that doctor. He did tell me though that my hormone levels were all fine, thyroid seems very healthy, and all my organs etc giving good numbers, low cholesterol, and finally no diseases.

So stumped, I took 10 days off work. I slept for 12 hours every day. Then, I couldnt get the erections to go away if I tried! Sex drive up, motivation up, I felt great!

Then back to sleeping 8 hrs a night when I had to go back to work and pretty quickly libido dropped right back down again.

Then I remembered, the change in libido mainly happened when I quit studying and started working full-time. Before I just used to train and study, and got 11 hrs sleep per day, libido was through the roof. It seems I may have a greater than average sleep requirement? Interestingly I am most tired in the morning and most awake (

Surely the information the doctor posses belongs to you? They are your results - he cannot do this?

Assuming you are from the US, your doctor is required to give you your results BY LAW. Did he tell you what he tested for? Probably right in trying to find a new doctor anyway.

Your new symptoms sound like you could have adrenal issues.
