I received the results recently. My blood was taken 1hr after I woke up. I have been instructed to find an endocrinologist about replacement therapy. I live near Reno, and I can’t seem to find anyone that doesn’t want to put me on 100mg of test-c once per month and “see how it goes”. I know that’s not going to help me, and shows a complete ignorance of the ester half-life.
I’m really at a loss for what to do next. Any advice? Should I be looking for someone other than an endocrinologist?

Test being at 70 last thing the uneducated Dr should have put you on is test. I specialize in dealing with male issues especially finding root cause by working with open minded Dr. I would have never suggested putting you on TRT right away unless you where >35 and still be hesitant. Your Dr may be doing more harm (which most of them do not know they are doing) by potentially masking a more sinister issues. I see this all the time in cases and the end results is feeling good for time being then months later crying the blues feeling like shit because the Dr forgot to properly evaluate WHAT CAUSED it.

I have read the stickies. I’m not looking for a diagnosis, I’m looking for a doctor recommendation for the Reno area. My history and test results aren’t needed for that.

I haven’t been put on anything. The three doctors that I was told to go see (by other Doctors) all suggested test-c, and the ridiculous dosing I mentioned. That’s how I knew I didn’t want them treating me. I’m trying to find a proper doctor so I can learn “WHAT CAUSED it” and solve the problem.

Ah…you are looking for a diagnosis…just not here. Nope don’t know anyone out your way. You may find there is no one near you who knows what caused it. Good luck!

It is not a diagnosis in no way. Its using the most powerful tool drs forget to use…Common sense, People are looking for complex explaination for these medical enigma when the answer lies in simplicity LOL
I found this, but I of course can’t PM him. Is there any way to contact a person who clearly has the information I’m looking for, but without doing something obnoxious like creating a thread with his name in the title or padding a post count until this restriction is lifted?

In order to make recommendation we have no case history.

Why do you need my case history to recommend a doctor that handles TRT? I’m not asking for opinions about if I need one, my doctor has already made that decision. Now I just need to find one someone else can recommend rather than picking a name out of the phone book at random, or having her recommend someone that might not know how to properly determine my situation (or treat it).
I’M NOT LOOKING FOR A DIAGNOSIS OR TREATMENT OPINIONS FROM ANYONE ON THIS BOARD! I’m looking for a doctor in my area that handles TRT, and preferably has a known track record of handling evaluation properly (and treatment if need be). My personal case history has absolutely nothing to do with anyone’s ability to provide that information. That’s like someone asking if you know a good dentist, but you telling them you can’t help because you don’t have their dental records.

Dr rarely every get down to the root cause of things. Majority of them look for the easy way out and prescribe testosterone when in a lot of cases never needed in the first place. I usually end up the people who have been to 50 or more medical professionals and have blown $100-200k on drs. or when Drs run into difficult cases they are stuck on. VTballa, one of the most respect people here will verfiy this. I educate open minded Drs about the latest cutting edge information in integrative medicine.

If you want to look for root cause look for an integrative or functional medicine.

Believe me when I say, he is trying to help you. Go to any “Why is this happening to me” website and you will find Hardasnails. He has a wealth of knowledge and a wealth of doctors at his disposal. I understand you are trying to find a doctor in your area, but here we like to see a full workup as listed in the stickies (symptoms, lab work, history). It helps us and others try to give you the best non-medical piece of advice we can.
