In august 2006 I did a deca/test cycle, it was my first cycle. PCT consisted of a several weeks of nolva. Afterwards I noticed quite a bit of suppression so I had some tests done in late november:
Testosterone Percent Free 2.02 1.1-2.8 %
Total Testosterone was measured by LCMSMS. The LCMSMS method
correlates well with our extraction/RIA method.
Testosterone,Free 40.0 35.0-155.0 pg/mL
Total Testosterone was measured by LCMSMS. The LCMSMS method
correlates well with our extraction/RIA method.
Testosterone,Total 198 L 250-1100 ng/dL
Total Testosterone was measured by LCMSMS. The LCMSMS method
correlates well with our extraction/RIA method.
The total Testosterone level is low.
Following this test I had more blood pulled last week and this is what the new results are:
Testosterone Percent Free 1.24 1.1-2.8 %
Total Testosterone was measured by LCMSMS. The LCMSMS method
correlates well with our extraction/RIA method.
Testosterone,Free 38.9 35.0-155.0 pg/mL
Total Testosterone was measured by LCMSMS. The LCMSMS method
correlates well with our extraction/RIA method.
Testosterone,Total 315 250-1100 ng/dL
Total Testosterone was measured by LCMSMS. The LCMSMS method
correlates well with our extraction/RIA method.
I have been taking a bit of Alpha Male and some ZMA for the last month and a half or so. I’m glad that my test levels are slowly coming back but I hope they continue to increase, I am starting to feel a little bit closer to normal now. Are my levels now reasonable? Any advice for how to increase natural test production at this stage? I am considering doing a short cycle of OT in the near future.

Well I think your problem was the PCT. Nolvadex is good for stopping gyno but you needed some clomid at least. Keep cycling the Alpha Male.[/quote]
I was thinking of perhaps taking some more nolva for a few weeks, this in theory should increase natural test production on its own… right?
Oh and yes I apparently am shut down from the deca/test cycle. Unfortunately I don’t have any blood levels from before my cycle but I think its safe to assume my test was at a higher level than what it is now.
How long was your cycle?
What dose of each compound did you run?
Did you use an AI at any point?
How old are you?
DECA has a 16 day half life and takes forever to clear.
If your cycle was over 4-6 weeks, then 2 weeks of Nolva is not enough. As a matter of fact 2 weeks of Nolva is never going to be enough for anything post cycle.
Some like to run the TEST past the point of DECA leaving the system. Some recommend tapering the test down in decreasing doseages over 6 weeks. Some recommend HCG at the end of a cycle or throughout. Personally, I like HCG la,Clomid,Nolva over 4-6 weeks post cycle. If you search you’ll find hundreds of posts about post cycle therapy protocols.
The Nandrolone definitely did it to ya. Since hcg itself can and will contribute to shutdown I am not a proponent of the product. Rather, having some type of anti-aromatase during the cycle itself and running it until the product clears which in Deca’s case is 2 weeks after your final injection and then running Nolva for 4-6 weeks at least depending on dosage strength and duration.
I’ve twice run Deca and Test C together at moderate doses and the only add-on I had was a single 25mg Proviron ED. Afterwards a month of Nolvadex and I was better than ever. Everybody is different.
Mine does not seem prone to excessive Deca Dick or Shutdown. However for those who are looking into Dostinex is something to consider
I was injecting test alone for 3 weeks at the end of the 9 week cycle, didn’t taper the test. I started a small amount of nolva when I started the test which was I believe week 3-9. After my last injection I did 20mg of nolva every day for about 2 weeks then used letrozole for about a month and then continued to use the nolva for about 2 weeks after that until I ran out. If I were ever to use this again I would look more into the HCG.
At this point what I am more interested in is what I can do to raise my natural test production now, not what I should have done then, although that is useful information for the next guy. I am 21 years old.
Well its good news that you are so young, your natural test levels should snap back if you stay off everything, it may take another month or so.
For what its worth Letro has some serious impact on male estrogen levels at very small doses. I much prefer Adex or Aromasin.
I have had a major change of heart on long cycles and keep mine to 30 days or less. I started following Author Rea’s suggestion of short cycles. Good luck to you in the future.
