Test Fest: Texas?

I vote for H-Town…

Why would anyone avoid the larger city?

I would not do this in October, as that will be the same time as the two-day Staley Boot Camp. Maybe August or September if planning that far in advance?

I was thinking September sometime - just after school having started, but before the craziness of the holidays and such. I also think that Dallas/Fort Worth area is the better bet as far as getting hotels and such. The only other choise for me would be here in Killeen - as I do have an in for several gyms, use of weights and nego. a rate for the hotel and rooms. The airport is adequate and shuttles available from the hotel. Not much for night life, but if you really want Austin is an hour away.

If someone is actually organizing this thing, then I’m going to be the first to say I’d like to do a presentation at it.

Also, TX would be great…I’ve never been there…

Houston? the DFW area will cover anything you want…firebug has already started the leg work… with this in the area. We will have a place all to ourselves in Arlington. If you like the more high paced night life…head to Dallas, Deep Elm, West end, lower Greenville and village area. Then the more laid back in Ft. Worth were the fun is at in the new downtown area after being rebuilt after the tornado. You have to check out the dress of the ladies during hot summer night. You can even head to the stockyards to see some Bull riding.

How about Moody Gardens in Galveston? It’s just south of houston, right on the Gulf. Excellent restaurants, close to the beach, plenty of accomodations within minutes. Good convention rooms, will even cater if necessary. That and they have plenty to do if you decide to bring your families, the aquarium, rainforest pyramid, I-max, The new Schlitterbahn water park, and they also have a fresh water lagoon for the kids. Did I mention the beach is only a block or two away, and chicks everyone loves half naked chicks.

That and if the misses likes to shop she can hit the Historice strand distric and blow all your money buying worthless shit, shell never get back on the plane.

I just figured it could be more entertaining if your family could venture off on thier own with out fear of being lost, Galveston is pretty small but well equipped to tourists and conventions.

Killeen sucks! I’ve been there enough times, and there’s nothing there.

Sorry, someone had to say it!

DFW area would be great location, and being in the northern part of the state would allow easier access for those in other states to attend

I live it! But as far as getting a good deal on the rooms and such, having equipment available - I have the in here. But like I said I think Dallas is the better area anyway! I can also have equipment brought to anyplace there, so either works for me. The Houston area is much harder for me to arrange, but still not impossible.

I think you would be like the fifth one - but whatever, dude.

You guys don’t know what “suck” even means until you have lived in the panhandle. It’s so bad that it doesn’t matter where you go when you die - even hell is better than the Texas panhandle.

So you’re already being punished, is that it?

Bingo.

Actually, it’s “Leakey” and “Killeen” and yes, if there’s a bright center of the universe, they’re the towns that are furthest from it.
