Yeah fair enough, I worded that very poorly. Having that sort of mindset being brought on by abuse and a failure to get help/or for others to realize that you need help isnt a choice, but acting on that mindset to hurt others is definitely a choice.

A gym I used to deadlift at with Tee Cummins had a Fantastic Sams Hair Salon connected to it. The deadlifting was rattling pictures off their walls. The owner used to come over pissed off all the time. It only made us deadlift harder, heavier, and louder. Good times.

I also deadlifted at a more commercial gym and had the head trainer there tell me I was being too loud and scaring his clients. There is no real good way to set down over 600 lbs for sets to failure easily and quietly. He caught me on a bad day and got a tirade of choice words from me as I was trying to catch my breath. He was like 5’6 155 lbs soaking wet so…

This discussion has taken a strange turn and doesn’t really belong in the PL section, but regardless of that the above logic doesn’t make a lot of sense. No, it isn’t morally acceptable to abuse others after yourself being abused but it does happen that way. Aside from the pedophile thing, it is common knowledge that kids who are beaten by their parents are much more likely to go on to beat their own kids, and boys who witness their father beating their mother are more likely to go on to beat women. A lot of people take out their frustrations on others, this is just another example.

Ok, below is a pretty basic, easy to understand article to get some insight into the psychology behind this. It would literally take a huge amount of time and commitment to find, cite and teach someone who has limited knowledge on mental illnesses. It’s so vaste and is precisely why psychiatrists, psychologists, researchers etc go to school and learn about it for a long time…and are still learning.

I found out that the kid ended up in juvey at 13 for molestjng his little sister and brother. He’s now 15, but it was discovered that his uncle who lived with them for a few years had molested him when he was 7-9. The kid is sociopathic now, but if this hadn’t happened to him at such a young age, who knows how he would have ended up.
