Teen diet/training like a steroid user?

I’ve heard a lot of articles saying teens don’t need to take steroids because they already have high levels of all hormones and a fast metabolism (And if they did, it supposedly wouldn’t even do much)… so is that true?
If it is, wouldn’t a teen benefit from training and eating like a steroid user?

I don’t think that it’s true that teens have “all this testosterone” flowing through their veins. What they do have, however, is a physiology that is more sensitive to hormonal changes. Introducing adrogens into the growing body can screw all sorts of things up. But I’m not a MD.

Right, if you’re a teen, I wouldn’t take any steroids, pro-hormones, or pro-steroids. This may hinder your body’s ability to produce testosterone and other hormones in the future. Wait until you’re over 20.

Well, if training like a steroid user involves many hours of resistance training daily, then I’d think No.

But if it means training smart with squats, deads, cleans, dips and chins and the like, then Yes.

As far as nutrition goes, hell yeah. Eat like you’re juiced.

I wasn’t asking if I should juice… I’m not going to and probably never will.

So eat like someone on juice but don’t train like them?
thanks

I have trained young athletes form 12-18years and they can train all day long with out overtraining, it blows my mind! the harder you push them the more they achieve (as long as they have the mental goods). That kind of volume and intensity just cant be done after about 18 years of age, you will burn out. shit i used to train and compete for over 25hours per week while in school, and having a partime job. running distance (up 25km) and track(3000m & 400m), waterpolo, swimming & rugby and ofcourse weights if there was any time in the day…
i wish i ate more…and ate better

So Whetu, you would agree teens should TRAIN and diet like steroid users?

I think i’m gonna start of slow with a 3 day split but then i’m gonna move onto something pretty high volume in a few months.

My old strength coach came from the olympic training center, and he said that for the first two years of anyones training they can make huge gains in strength w/o being on an organized logical program. But after increases halt and there are a lot of diminishing returns, and a organized progressive workout is essential.

Specifically, what are you going to do differently if you are told to “train like a steroid user” vs “don’t train like a steroid user” ?

edit: i see now I’ve been drawn into an 8 year old thread. Slay me

Steroidsare4losers, stay natural buddy!

Ya, it’s a moot point.

Whether you’re on or natty, you must FUCKEN BRING IT to the gym and crush big plates of food.
If you wanna seek logic in the OP, it might be something akin to “blast and dust” mentality, as in: “As soon as I start this cycle, I’ll also step up my game in the gym and better my diet”!

I’m actually in a similar mode right now; as soon as I hand in my thesis in a few days I will certainly up my frequency, assistance work and keep better tabs on what I eat.

No, at no point in life will you be producing as much androgens as a steroid user.

That said, someone whose body (including frame, endrocrine system, cardiovascular system, etc) has not yet matured, has no place doing steroids.

That really depends on how much the user is using.

And also, most heavy users aren’t producing many androgens at all, they’re injecting them.

It’s always motherfuckers with like 10 posts or less that resurrect these ANCIENT fucking threads.

Pay attention, morons.

sorry man, will avoid it in the future

Don’t sweat it, newbie. Half the time these “veteran know-it-alls” around here get pissed off if you START a new thread with a topic that’s already been covered. At least you used the SEARCH function and did something on your own.

lol

you know what would definetely rock? OP posting here…

A teen taking steroids training hard and eating right will make huge gains and better than if they were older (assuming everything is the same) But the risk associated with steroids are higher as a teen.

To answer your question no.
