Im coming off a d-bol cycle and i was training 1 bodypart per day for 12 sets of 8 reps.
Now im going to switch to a full body program.
What programs do u think would be best for muscle growth? HST or TBT.
Im assuming TBT would be more of a strengh and hypertrophy program rather than a pure hypertrophy program like HST? would i be correct in that line of thinking?
Which of the above have u guys had the most success with? or do u guys follow another full body type program?
I hated HST (did it for six weeks) and saw my strength and size disappear. I have used many of CW’s programs, and I had started a few weeks of TBT, but I had to stop due to “life” happening.
Overall, I think TBT is a much better program than HST.
However, since you were used to a high volume program (12x8), you might want to consider something completely opposite (low volume, higher intensity). Something like the Strength-Focused Mesocycle, Triple Total Training, ABBH or The Next Big Three.
I got 3 weeks into HST and quit because it sucked ass. I didn’t gain strength in any lift, my body weight went down slightly, and I felt like it wasn’t working for me. Try doing some of CW or CT’s programs.
The regular contributors on this site are regularly contributing because they kick ass, keep that in mind.
I did see some Hypertrophy on HST but lost strength and didn’t feel motivated due to lifting such a light weight (for me it just doesnt feel right when the exercise isnt very challenging)
TBT on the other hand was fantastic and I saw some good gains, plus it was way more interesting IMO.
I think WM is my favorite because of 10x3, but TBT is awesome. I like the fact that it’s as intense as you make it to be. By picking the right exercises, your waisted at the end of your workout. I’ll be doing it again soon, this time I’m going to step it up and do it with 5 or 6 compound exercises and 2 or 3 single-jointed exercises for a total of 8 instead of 6 exercises.

Nate Dogg is correct, you’d be better off with a lower rep-based program. I suggest the Waterbury Method for your goals. It works, period.

CW is on target (duh!). You must continue to use heavy weights to maintain what you gained on AAS. The most important factor in retaining “juice” gains is keeping the intensity high. Got a buddy I work with who cycles off and on. Empirially, doing higher rep/lower weight stuff causes rapid losses.
