any of them as long as your hitting good depth - parallel or beyond.
Overhead squat will really work your core more
front squats I feel on the quads more
bs I feel in the ass and hammies more
rotate them every couple of weeks to get benefits from each one. or learn to do a BS like boss and add some weight progressively.
I have settled upon back squat like a boss. I’m really liking starting strength now that I’m reading with some actual experience. When I first got it I had no idea what a squat even was! It likes the low bar back squat so it’s settled. Game on!

I could do with that - I’ve got quite a lot of hair but it’s very fine and as I’m getting older, it’s not getting any thicker.
I can’t find the article, sorry. But the gist of it was to wet your hair and then under cooler water flip it over and while bent over massage the scalp. Kinda imagine pulling the oil away from the scalp.
you need to move out of the midwest - the lack something is getting to you.
I kid i kid.
some of those classes are no joke indeed.
the no-poo thing is something the wife is looking into
I am a self admitting product whore- the wife is in the beauty biz
frenchie’s advice is solid
I cant squat- due to neck issues
so i do front squat allot If you go ATG you will get enough glute stimulation there too.
I like OH squats too
I will let you in on a glute secret
air humps.
just saying.
Bro, I know!
Can I call you bro? I really miss calling guys Bro. In BJJ it’s the standard but, you say it to anyone else and you’re a douchbag
I really do need to figure something out to at least hit a class once or twice a month. When I can go back to it regularly I am going to suck, but at least if I manage to sneak something in I won’t forget what it’s like to roll.
I’m a bit of a makeup whore. Mostly mascara, I LOVE ridiculously long lashes, mine are already pretty long but mascara and I can get them to hit my sunglasses. (and now we’re talking about makeup)
You would not believe the number of air humps that occur in these classes! If these cardio bunnies ate more they would probably have some assets.
Hi Pch
just wanted to let you know that I read Room yesterday in one go from 7 to midnight. It was so freakin powerful. Def not a “feel good” but very intersting. Wasn’t sure how I’d feel about reading from a 5yrd olds point of view but the author didn’t make it too contrived, it felt very “real” to me.
I found the hardest part was reading when the mother gets criticisez for keeping her son in captivity. Funny thing is it never crossed my mind once that she should have done that. Maybe I’m nuts?
Thanks for the recommendation. Let me know if you come accross some good reading again.

I’m glad you liked it; it’s definitely not a feel good book. I had the same thought about her keeping him, so you’re not nuts. I haven’t read anything else lately but if I do I’ll share, and you do the same?
Saturday I played with squat form a bit. I took the book to the gym, gathered a broom stick, a light body bar and an actual bar an hogged the squat rack. It was awesome. The only other people were a man and his daughter and he was showing her how to bench, which was pretty cool to see. I see a lot of father-son combos in the gym but this is the first father-daughter lifting combo I’ve seen.
So, squatting with good form is hard. I actually found it to be harder with the lighter bars to keep my heels down. There’s also a lot to keep in mind! I’m still working on the video thing, my brother is much less willing to be videographer than I expected.
i find that i have trouble with losing my balance backwards on low bar back squats until the weight gets up to about half my bodyweight. then the issue seems to sort itself out. that is cool to hear about the father daughter lifting combo.
my gym only closes for a couple weeks. but then i need to go to another gym and they don’t have bumper plates or an oly bar. so… i’ll need to do different stuff.

for vids I’ve learnt to prop the camera on a bench. removes the need for another person.
Yeah, I think that’s what I’m going to have to end up doing. I was hoping for a camera person so I wouldn’t have to deal with videos of say just my feet, or me not even in the frame. I was also counting on the protective bubble caused by having a lifting buddy. People at the gym have no problem entering my space and moving my stuffs.

Yeah, I did a few backwards rolls the first day. I wonder if it’s different for women, our center of gravity is different.
Aren’t some of the bumper plates your own personally? Can you take them to new gym with you?

As for your avatar… have you ever been to his stand up routine?
I saw Bill in NYC and here in Omaha. I have never before laughed so hard in my life.
You should do it, it’s a great way to make you get flexibility work in, and it’s full of hot girls in tight clothes. I think there was an article not so long ago on here recommending a class a week.
Never seen Cosby in person. I was just watching the Cosby show on netflix and needed an avi. Cosby also reminds me of my dad a lot, he wears the sweaters.
I’ll see if I can find some of his stand up online. It’s not like Saget though is it? Watching Sagat’s standup really fucked with watching Full House reruns.
