okay so i won’t lie. this is kinda why i want to learn to jump:

pretty sure my feet are never going to be up to that though, lol. Parkour. never heard of it - then found some stuff when i got my vibrams. how ninja-like is that? heh heh.

[quote]alexus wrote:

ditto. now plate flips sound like a different story…

vibrams = ninja.

and planks are a bitch.

Whoa! The parkour vid made me feel like I was watching a human version of Rebel Monkeys. Love that show. I was watching with baited breath for someone to get their sandwich stolen or something. Lol

Does look pretty fun actually. Smiling Politely wrote about a parkour class in her thread over at Muscle Sorority.

how YOU doin?

Hey sorry, I’ve been a snot monster lately. It did result in me trying the neti pot though, A very weird but kinda cool feeling.

http://anatomynotes.blogspot.com/2006/03/nasal-irrigation.html

back away from the neti pot, young lady…

it’s for your own good~

Off my sick bed!

I’ve decided to take all the thinking out of it, and just work on the suck it up and do it aspect of lifting. I’m just going to do the Cosgrove program from the New Rules of Lifting for Women book. I tried it once, but didn’t stick with it, so now I’ll see if I can complete it.

I’ve done 2 workouts this week, but they were the same:

Warm
Ankle
A1) BB Squat 65x15x2
I haven’t done anything more that 5 reps in forever. 15 was quite the endurance challenge! Around rep 10 each time I had to stop and tell myself to suck it the fuck up and do it. I think I may have even said it outloud once, lol.

B1) Seated Row 5x2x15
B2) 45 degree Pushups 2x15

C1) Step Up 15x2x15
C2) JackKnife 2x8

I’ve kept up with the daily yoga thing. The Denise Austin vid got a bit boring, so I jumped over to Tara Stiles http://tarastilesyoga.blip.tv/file/2642498/ her vids are nice bite sized get up from my desk bites.

Good for you w/the daily yoga and the neti pot. Hope that you’re feeling better.

HI!!

aw, sorry to hear you have been sick. i’ve heard good things about nasal irrigation, too. the thought of it makes me feel really squeemish, though. on a par with piercings… i might just need to do it the next time i quit smoking, though. save me getting a sinus infection, most probably.

i have to tell myself to quit with the whining and suck it up with a 6x6. i don’t think i’ve ever tried a set with more than 10 in it… my commiseration’s. admiration. etc.

yoga + neti pot?

Legal in Cali.

Prolly no where’s else.

these are a gateway, young lady.

what’s next? Pilates and a Hookah?

then what? PSX90 and Heroin?

just say no.

Thanks, usually when I have a cough it lasts forever, but being proactive has helped a lot.

It’s weird, but not that gross. I read that it appeals to people who like to clean out their ears with q-tips which is kinda why I tried it. A lot of blogs said to do it everyday, but that felt like a bit much, so I’m just going for once in a while. It really has helped though, I don’t feel that regular ‘my head is full and going to explode’ sensation. You really should do it post smoking, it’ll help.

I’m no Indian giver. It’s yours to keep.

I’ve actually been doing a lot of non-school reading lately, and friday I read a really unique book you guys may want to pick up if you read. It was completely captivating and I actually ended up reading it all at once at the book store. One of those look up it’s three hours later and the world looks weird experiences. Anyway it’s called Room by Emma Donoghue, and since I’m really bad summarizing without spoiling here’s Amazon’s synopsis:

In many ways, Jack is a typical 5-year-old. He likes to read books, watch TV, and play games with his Ma. But Jack is different in a big way–he has lived his entire life in a single room, sharing the tiny space with only his mother and an unnerving nighttime visitor known as Old Nick. For Jack, Room is the only world he knows, but for Ma, it is a prison in which she has tried to craft a normal life for her son. When their insular world suddenly expands beyond the confines of their four walls, the consequences are piercing and extraordinary. Despite its profoundly disturbing premise, Emma Donoghue’s Room is rife with moments of hope and beauty, and the dogged determination to live, even in the most desolate circumstances. A stunning and original novel of survival in captivity, readers who enter Room will leave staggered, as though, like Jack, they are seeing the world for the very first time. --Lynette Mong

I did make it to the gym over the weekend.

Workout 3:

Warm
Ankle

A1) Squat 65x2x12
These reps went awesomely. In yoga they’re always saying concentrate on your breath and it’ll make it easier, but I never can get it there. With the squats I nailed it. I got all 12 reps with a nice smooth cadence. It managed to take me out of my crappy day really well.

B1) 45 Push up 2x12
B2) Seated Row 5x2x12

C1) Step up 15x2x12
C2) Jackknife 2x10

I ordered the book - sounds like a really interesting read.

awesome on the squats Pch!
