Tanning Advice

Not anywhere close to a bodybuilder, or even looking that great with my shirt off, but I’m a bit too pale in some spots right now.

Do you any of you bodybuilders have advice on tanning - ideal places, times, particular activities? Thanks.

You do understand the day is coming when you’ll be all big and will actually have things to worry about right?

Just go out when the sun is shining, move a round a bit and don’t let yourself burn.

What the hell is goin on these days? Is it even possible to over complicate getting some sun? No offense chief, but I hope you get your mind outta that straight jacket soon. Life’s tough enough without concocting innovative ways to get yourself stressed.

I completely agree with Tiribulus on this. I don’t mean to be a jackass, but I have read some of your posts and I understand that you are pretty new to working out. It just seems to me that you are either over complicating things, getting an information overload and/or worrying about more than you can handle.

I think you just need to focus on getting the basics down of eating big and lifting heavy for you. Please don’t get too tied up on all the extra stuff. Hope that helps you get some priorities straightened out.

And another thing, please don’t try to inflate your stats in your profile. You are not 170 lb at 5’7.5". You aren’t a fatass and don’t have the muscle for for 170 lb.

What is it with you and the thinking? Switch your brain off and lift.

No wait…

The best tanning advice…Hmmm, let me see…

Well I tend to go outside. Ya know, where the sun is.

I dont think anyone needs advice on how to get a tan, it seems logical enough to just stand outside

Just when I think I’ve got a handle on my training, someone shows me that I don’t know it all yet -lol

Thanks greek, had a good chuckle.

I’m 173 at 5’7.5". I’ve cross-checked this with two different physicians’ scales and three bathroom scales. My family has heavy bones or something. What do I have to gain from inflating my stats? It’s not as if anyone’s going to mistake for anything more than a nub, and there’s no reason to take the internet seriously.

On the bright side, I stopped using that shitty Smith machine.

Dude, fuck the tan, start lifting first.

I’m not much of a proponent for the smith machine, but it is by no means “shitty.” There are plenty of bodybuilders who have capitalized heavily by using this machine. Dorian Yates specifically mentioned how he was able to achieve greater size in his legs due to the isolation the smith machine gave him.

And to answer your question about tanning I am sure there’s a tanning salon near your house. I know everyone is telling you to walk outside, but i am sure you already took that into account, i hope. So the other option is a tanning salon. I am sure there is one near your house. If you don’t know of one just look it up online on yahoo yellow pages, whatever search you want.

You will have to go for at least a month to get really dark. The first few times will be exposure sessions that will give you a base tan. They can sell you creams too that help accelerate the tanning process. It’s really not worth the money considering your purchasing such a perishable amenity, but if you have the money and are too impatient to sit out in the sun…go ahead. I have just had to do it to get dark quickly for acting/print jobs. Have fun

I think the main problem for me was that it handicapped my form - it didn’t hurt enough, yeah? I switched to free weights which are supposed to be better for beginners because they work stabilizer muscles or something like thatt. You can never really discount anything, so I’ll try it out again in a few months.

just go what works for you. i personally rather squat because i feel awkward squatting on the smith machine. i was just saying don’t call anything shitty if it really isn’t/ there are plenty of things that go on in a gym or that are in one that are of course, shitty. lol
