the neat thing about what I am doing is that it is always the same, if I go to the gym 7 days a week or 2 I do the same thing so today was :
6/9/12
deads-w/ups 445x5x5
Bench- w/ups 385x3x3x4
Rows- 275x3x3x3
DBell Curls- 65’s x12x12
Swings- x10

Getting yourself in a bit of trouble outside of the compound? Who gave you a day pass anyway?
You troll, you.
kp,
Sometimes my cable goes out
and when my cable goes out I “troll conservative forums”
when I “troll conservative forums” I get called names
when I get called names I post more and more
when I post more and more I LOL at ridiculous leaps of logic
and when I LOL at ridiculous leaps of logic I remember that I use my real name on this forum
when I use my real name I get prank called at home and my wife punches me in the belly
Don’t get punched in the belly.
Get a Fake Screen Name
Or something like that, I probably should only post in this forum, it’s much friendlier. You took a risk going in with your brain, as you may have noticed brainless is de rigueur over there.
Get your cable fixed.
Quite honestly, those guys scare me. Extremists of any kind – in any camp – trouble me. I should never have ventured into that forum. I never even stated my position. But just dropping in with what I thought was a fairly innocuous talking point allows those guys to unleash on me. I like a good debate. But not with people like that. In my opinion, good debate requires listening and responding without personal assault.
What’s really funny is the assumption that I’m some flaming liberal. I live a pretty conservative lifestyle yet am totally open to options and different schools of thought. I seriously cannot imagine being so closed-minded and . . . angry.
kp,
They won’t stop talking about you now.
Today
Bench- w/ups- 365x3x3x3x3x3x3
Squat- w/ups 495x2x2x2x2x2
DBell Curls- 70’s x10x10
So damn hot (91), I went home and cried a bit.

I have that effect on men.

I took most of a week off, I went to the gym a couple times but I really had nothing in the tank at all so I just sort of dicked around with light weights. Went back today.
6/18/12
i have invented a program I call 5-3-2, I think I may be on to something. I start light and raise the weights 5 lbs per workout, yeah this is pretty original, I may trademark it.
Bench- w/ups- 335x5, 350x3, 365x2 all pauses
OHP- 135x5, 165x3, 185x2
Rows- 225x5, 255x3, 275x2
Curls- 65’s x10x10
Pushdowns- weight x10 x10
I will do this on an A,B,A B,A,B schedule with legs as my B day.
6/20/12
Hot as a sumbeetch today, I was supposed to squat/deadlift but I am “testicularly challenged” when the heat index hits triple digits, so I did cleans and stuff.
6/20/12
Cleans- 175x5, 225x3, 255x2
Hang Cleans- 205x5, 215x3, 225x2
Snatch- 95x5, 135x3, 145x2
Rows- 230x5, 260x3, 280x2
Swings- 20
Done.
6/22/12
More of 5/3/2
Lifted at the commercial gym, since my gym closed early for “awesome weather”. Deadlifting is awkward with octagonal weights but oh well…
Deadlifts- w/ups- 365x5. 415x3, 465x2
Cleans- 145x5, 195x3, 235x2 (missing my bumper plates for dropping)
Hammer Dbell Curls- 65’s x8x8
Then I went home. Today I am experiencing some DOMS from the cleans I think, very sore in the ass area.
6/27/12
The new program is cruising right along
6/25/12
Deadlifts- w/ups- 370x5, 420x3, 470x2
Cleans- 150x5, 200x3, 240x2 back at bumper plate gym
Front Squat- 225x5, 275x3, 295x2
6/27/12
7am is too early for me to lift.
Bench- w/ups- 345x5, 360x3, 375x2
OHP- 145x5, 175x3, 195x2
Rows- 235x5, 265x3, 285x2
Done but tired no arm work today.
7/1/12
5-3-2 continues in its’ glory.
Bench- w/ups- 350x5, 365x3, 380x2
OHP- 150x5, 180x3, 200x2
Rows- 240x5, 270x3, 290x2
Incline Close Grip- 225x5, 245x3, 265x2
Cleans- 140x5, 190x3, 230x2
7/3/12
It’s like 90 degrees here with 90% humidity, it sucks.
6/25/12
Deadlifts- w/ups- 375x5, 425x3, 475x2
Cleans- 150x5, 200x3, 230x2
Squat- 365x5, 405x3, 455x2
Snatches- 95x5, 135x3, 155x2
8/24/12
So I haven’t done much for the past 45 days, I dicked up my neck around July 4th (probably from looking at fireworks, I am just that frail), after a week of intense but familiar pain I went to my doctor at the VA, shockingly I have a herniated C7-T1, I was having problems holding shit, my hands were numb, my grip was a mess etc. so I haven’t done anything at all for a bit, simply because I am too much of a pussy I guess. For the record I now have a whopping 6 disc herniations, an ankle fusion, 5-6 knee surgeries, 2 torn RC’s, a torn elbow ligament, a hip scope showing torn cartilage and probably some other things I don’t remember, that all led to this epic workout today:
Bench- barx8, 135x8, 185x5, 225x5x3
Leg Press- Weights x 8x8x8
Curls- 25’s x10x10
I would like to call this an easing back in process but everything (and I know it’s not a lot) felt heavy as shit. It might be time to consider a new hobby.

I’m struggling with this decision myself right now. Like you, it seems like everytime I turn around, another joint falls apart.
I always enjoy your log, though. You’re a great, entertaining writer.
Snap,
Thanks for the nice words. I have noticed you struggling with injuries a bit lately as well, I can honest;y say “I feel your pain” or at least a fair representation of it.

Talked with my doctor, he said that lifting was okay, just don’t “overexert” myself, not sure what he meant by that, he also told me that my newfound weakness was :
A). Not Permanent, and more a result of issues with my nerves than with my muscles themselves (if he was attempting to be reassuring he failed miserably).
B). Probably going to be there awhile, until we figure out a treatment modality that works (apparently my old stand-by, Nerve Blocks, are not an option due to the location of the herniation) again, not very comforting
and
C). Not going to get worse, which sounds good, but I guess could also mean that I have reached maximum damage.
bench- barx8x8, 135x8, 225x8, 245x8x8
Close Grip bench- 245x8x8, 255x8
Skullcrushers- 65x15x15, 85x12, 95x12
8/30/12
SL Deads- 135x8, 225x5
Sumo Deads- 225x3x3
Deads- 405x3, 425x2, 445x1
Curls- 45’s x 12, 12
Two days of very light weights that felt super heavy. I forgot about my upper back doing deads, but I remember now, ouch, 200 lbs less than last year and it felt about the same difficulty wise so…
9/24/12
I have been doing a lot of bodyweight stuff trying to heal up my broken parts again, lots of bands, lots of carrying things etc. It all feels like work but it is not the stuff I enjoy.
Today I went back to the gym with a plan and a goal, hopefully the reduced volume keeps me healthy and injury free.
Bench- w/ups- 315x5. 350x3, 365x2 The weight seemed light enough which is a good sign I am told
Close Grip Bench- 225x10, 275x6, 295x4 No pain at all
Complexes- 3 sets- 95 lbs- BBell Row/Hang Clean/OHP/Squat/ Good Morning 5 reps each, 90 seconds rest
Curls- 40’sx8, 45’s x8, 50’s x8 This is where the disk issue is really holding me back, my arms feel weak when they hang, so I need to work on this somehow.
All in all a nice start. Wednesday I squat + complexes (at 105lbs), provided everything is still functional
Great work, Brian, good to see you back.
