So I got labs back today and now it seems my T has gone too high. Scale tops out at 916 and it came in at 1157. Apologies for being freaked out. This is only taking a total of 60mg a week. I really feel I need to get this down pretty quick as I am a bit panicked honestly. Any experience with this happening? Any way to bring this down other than simply not injecting for a couple of weeks or so?
I just had my levels checked and Total T is 1052 ng/dL 4 hours after my Jatenzo dosage (@ 237 mg x2 daily), peak levels (@ 2 hours) being a little higher and my endo’s response was->
Yes, the testosterone level doesn’t bother me too much as the free levels (calculated = 33.6 ng/dL, 7.0 - 36.7 ng/dL) are normal and my guess is it is the timing of when you checked your levels in relationship to your dose. It’s more the hemoglobin levels long term putting strain on the heart due to the excess thickness of the blood.
Relax, if your hemoglobin is high or you don’t feel right, just lower your dosage.
The last injection was on a Friday….blood test was that next Monday.
What was your free test?
Total Test effectively means nothing, free Test is what tends to dictate how you feel.
Putting your labs aside, how do you feel?
23 on a scale that tops out at 24. Feel? I feel fine …a little headache…just spooked by the number since new to this. I also notice my ferritin is low so the numbers kind of got me.
Iron deficiency can cause the brain to receive less oxygen than it needs to function optimally, leading to headaches. The same thing happens in women who are menstruating, the loss of iron can cause migraines.
Increasing iron stores may very well lead to higher hemoglobin.
So being new to this…if I don’t inject for a week and give it some time, how much would guess that 1157 may drop to? I know it’s a guess. Just wondering the experience of doing so.
When I was on injections, 50 mg twice weekly, I drop about 200 ng/dL for every 2 days that passes and that’s without decreasing the dosage.
I have seen larger decreases in the same time frame in other members.
So 45-50 mg twice weekly and your levels should be in range within a week.

The direct Free T measurement can’t be relied upon for accuracy, only the Equilibrium Dialysis or Ultrafiltration should be used for measuring Free T.
If by any chance the direct Free T measurement is close to being accurate, your Free T is normal.
Ok, well these were ordered by my endocrinologist. He is going to for sure say both free and total are too high.
Technically is statement would be in error, unless hemoglobin is high. If he does say this, ask him to explain why these levels are too high.
Really, why? What’s bothering you about 1100ng TT?
At my age, I cannot see that makes sense. 750-850 makes better sense or so that seems.
Thanks readalot.
No need.
Yes, all the time.
Of course, many ways.
There you go.
Thanks…like your style
You’re welcome. Take your testosterone, focus on enjoying your life.
Interesting. I’m guessing you’re just fixating on that number/range and not looking at what that means for your overall health. If you said “I have 1100ng TT and my heart has problems, BP is constantly high, kidneys aren’t healthy, I’m peeing 10x at night and I have lots of anxiety” I’d say “yeah, all those things could be influenced by your high TT level, maybe lower your dose and see if they clear up.” But the number just by itself? Nah, nothing to be scared of.
