Time for a little bragging, cuz it’s my log and I want to lol. I’m doing front squats at the gym today and I hit a PR 275. I rack the weight and the stranger next to me goes “damn, bro. That shit was cleaner than Clorox. It looked like you tickled your butthole on the carpet a little bit.” All I could do was die laughing like a doofus
That made me laugh
that’s a weird f-ing statement but funny nonetheless.
I wanted to chime in on this:
I’ve always hated the idea of temporary “diets”. I feel like they set you up for failure. For one, they tend to be very restrictive and people end up giving up over the guilt they feel for messing up. Second, they have an end date and people tend to go back to their old eating habits that led them to be unhappy with themselves in the first place.
I always tell people to adopt healthier eating habits and track overall calories until they get a handle on what they’re actually eating. I emphasize that there will be days where you cheat. Enjoy them and get back on track. There should be no guilt. No restrictions. The key is finding something that you can maintain for life, not six weeks.
Example: I just ate half of a chocolate Easter bunny and there’s a good chance I’ll finish it later. I track it in My Fitness Pal and just count it towards my day. We put the M&M’s in an old fashioned gumball machine so I have to put a penny in to get one M&M. If we don’t do that then I’ll eat the whole bag in about 10 minutes. And I don’t feel bad for it!
Yeah man, I log all my food in MyFitnessPal. It’s not that I’m starving myself or cutting calories too hard, I’m just a junk food junkie. Even if I eat a lot of good food I still get cravings for garbage. It really comes down to me not having enough discipline to consistently eat right. This is my main priority cuz I’m tired of being just another slapdick that doesn’t do what he aims to do
Also, the 6 weeks of hard dieting is really just to get my eating habits in order. It’s a lot like smoking. Cut cold turkey and after a few weeks the cravings go away. I can’t do cheat meals cuz it opens the flood gates for cheat days, so I’m quitting cold turkey for a couple months until I get my body fat and shitty food addiction under control then slowly reintroducing carbs and the very occasional cheat. But if I start adding in cheats and it leads to binging then I’m just gonna have to say fuck junk food all together
Unless you’re feeling it, I’d avoid all further interactions with this person. You don’t specify, but if it was an attractive girl you might see where that goes.
Same… that’s why I do keto. There is a severe punishment, 3-7 days before re-entering, for coming out. Otherwise, I’d be offered a piece of candy, cookie, donut, etc and end up eating all of them.
Shit I knew I wasn’t crazy. I remembered somebody going keto on here, I’ve been over on USMCs log asking about keto thinking it was him. How has it been going for you? Any tips/ tricks to making keto work? Do you do full on no carbs or do you still eat some carbs around your workout? I was stuck between a traditional keto 60% fat, 35% protein, 5% carbs or sticking to my plazma preworkout and it being more like 15c, 35p, 50f
I agree and experience the same thing with my vices. My cheat meal used to be a large pizza followed by ice cream–usually Dairy Queen’s chocolate cookie dough blizzard (1600 calories).
I’ve learned there are certain foods that lead to the bad cravings. My wife swears it’s done intentionally by the food industry so you eat more of their product. She may be right. If I allow myself to drink Duet Dr Pepper then I start craving more sweets. It’s a slippery slope.
Find foods that you like and eat them every day.
I have three breakfast meals:
High fat protein shake
Meat Cheese (low cal version)
Sausage links, avocado, olive oil and eggs
I have several lunches:
Bacon and brussel sprouts
Salad, with hard boiled egg and chicken or pork, with olive oil dressing.
Meat/cheese - Costco has provolone and salami packs
Brisket from BBQ shop
Keto mousse (home made recipe 52F, 3C, 8P)
Dinner
Ground pork and eggs
Ground pork lettuc wraps
Coconut curry chicken soup
Salmon and procuitto parmesean cabbage
Just a few examples. Also, I eat tons of veggies but cook then with tons of olive oil and some kind of fatty meat (sausage, bacon, procuitto, pancetta, etc)
I do full Keto, I never get hungry and don’t think about food. Occasionally I will over exert myself, but bcaas and food get me back. I didn’t start here, but slowly overtime got to this point. You also get in tune with your body’s response to different foods and how much you can eat of it. There’s a gray line. For example, I eat 90% dark chocolate like it’s going out of style. I can eat two squares ever 6 hours, twice a day and stay in Keto. Also, orange tic tacs are delicious if I need something tasty, and I have cocoa nibs from Trader Joe’s and cool whip in the office fridge. lol there’s a jar of PB by desk too. Haha the office fridge is stocked with string cheese too.
Bahahaha I never think about it, but I have high fat food near me all the time.
Also, get your fat around 75% and adjust with more protein slowly. I need at least 70% fat to stay in Keto. Too much protein and I’m out.
