T-ransformation 2017: Benanything's Log

Just to maybe mix things up a bit, alternate your main movements every cycle? So do a full cycle of bench then squat, then next cycle switch them up so you do squat first?

Or do both your main movements first, then do the extra fluff?

I’d rather be working both the main movements hard and easing off on the accessories, rather than slacking off on my squat!

I’m done. My lazy ass is calling it quits. Hell, the after photo probably isn’t even the best looking photo in my training log but it’ll do. Didn’t bother to water cut/etc, will try it next time though. Man, I’m looking forward to not having to physically log down everything I eat for a while. Have my exams next week, gon focus in on that for now.

As for lifting, I’ll just stick to 5/3/1 cause it’s working so… Yeah. Gonna eat in either maintenance or a slight surplus, think 250 calories or so.

Overall, I did kinda take away a few lessons from this. I did somewhat learn how to eat like an adult. Nothing too hard about it other than the whole having a social life aspect of it. Rice + meats of all sorts + veggies. That and hell, when I do cheat on my meals, I cheat fucking hard.

On top of everything everyone else has stated, why not cap your top set if you feel good for jokers at 10 or so reps, build up to slightly above your TM for a single, triple or five, then go from there? It may help. I’m like you and many here where I I don’t do some kind of build up heavy work I feel like shit because I’m not to the point where my top sets are heavy enough to spark strength. I love 531 and believe in most of the programming, but what some people will gain out of a 20+ top set, you may not.

I still ought to experiment with it, the high rep sets don’t seem to have much of a negative impact on me so far so I’ll have to see how it goes.

Looking good, Ben. Will you return to Weightlifting now that you are done trying to look good?

Unfortunately no haha, I’d love to but here’s hoping you do enough weightlifting for the both of us.

It’s gonna be canoeing with lifting/running on the side for the next 3/4 months. After that, I’ll go into a more military focus so running/rucking/bodyweight calisthenics with lifting/canoeing on the side.

I would incorporate more weightlifting but I simply don’t have access to the equipment. I can’t even do cleans properly at my current (free school) gym. The bars are so dog shit that there is basically 0 rotation and it bums the hell out of my wrists.

Believe it or not, I’m still alive and lifting haha. Will be moving my stuff back to Benanything's Training Log.
