Hey B3, what’s your take on the state of this site as it pertains to the Amendments listed above…you’ve got the post count of a vet.

There’s a gazillion people who post on this site and have a much higher “post count” than me, yet my name is mentioned??? Hmmm…not sure what that’s all about but okay, I’ll bite…

B3=

In every forum except, maybe, SATMA.

I always thought B3=BodyBldgBabe and Bushy=bushidobadboy… I am so confused

Ooops…my bad, I meant BushidoBadBoy…just can’t bring myself to call him by his nickname and was too lazy to right it out at the time…lol

And to noobs.

Such as “Getting Huge” = Bodybuilding forum and have a general fitness or even a sports performance forum. At least it may help steer newbies in the right direction.[/quote]

I think part of the problem is that the Bodybuilding forum is the first one listed (alphabetically), so a lot of the uninformed comments get dumped in there.

THAT was hilarious.

I’ve always seen bushidobadboy referred to as “Bushy” and never “B-3,” which I’ve mostly seen (save for this instance) associated with BodyBldgBabe.

But let’s not digress further.

You have been a member since december. You are a noob. Thanks, and have a great weekend.

I’ve been a member since April 2006, but I wasn’t able to post on my old name for some reason, so I made this one after a few months of posting inability. So really, I’ve been around for 2 years. Not too long compared to many, but definitely not a few months like this name suggests. You’re welcome, and I hope your weekend goes just as well as mine.

I’ve seen bushy and BBB referenced to bushid obadboy, and b3 was always bodyblgebabe

Thanks for your input. I will sleep much better tonight, thanks.

I think a really important question that needs to be asked is… why was the ‘dog pound’ eliminated in the first place?

For reasons that are currently forgotten, but, I think, will be soon remembered.

I’m certainly not opposed to the “dog pound”; I just don’t think it will be quite as satisfying as many here envision.

I have been a member of T-Nation since before it was T-Nation. I was a forum member and frequent poster, not to mention article contributor, way back when T-Mag was still uploading articles only once a week.

In the 6+ years I have been here, I have seen “vets” come and go. It happens. People do get sick of things and look for a new “home.” Others just stop posting as much and fade into lurkers.

As part of the original Dog Pound, I will tell you why it no longer exists. It didn’t work. Basically, the only people who were admitted were the ones who really were the “core” of the board at that time. They ‘knew’ each other really well, and we all had pretty much spent years hashing out ideas about training. None of us had any real questions to ask each other. If we did, we PM’d one another.

Vets tend not to need advice from one another. Or rather, they probably need it quite a bit, but tend to ask for it a lot less frequently. There was, unfortunately, no proliferation of in depth discussion of diet or training, no secret tips that newbies are not privvy to.

What the DP became was sort of a massive elitist off-topic board where everyone just patted each other on the back, occasionally discussed training, but for the most part just chatter. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what it was intended for.

On top of all that, it sort of fragmented the board and made things sort of “clique-Y.”

It should be noted, that when the occasionally in depth training discussion did happen, it really was very interesting and I think everyone learned a lot. Conversations like that were just few and far between.

On the other hand, the overall population of the forums was significantly smaller at that point in time. I can certainly see that if the DP were resurrected, things would be different. By that I mean, given that the population is currently larger, the number of vets is probably larger (although not proportionately) as well. I suppose it stands to reason that with a greater number of people posting, there would be more discussion overall.

Also, the pool of available posters was lowered because T-Nation did not have a system in place to post-moderate a larger user base. Since that is now the norm, it is possible to open things up a bit.

thanks for noticing. and likewise.

That fact that this thread and the other have about 5 pages worth of posts, seems to tell me the demand is there, so I ask, is there some harm in trying? If it doesn’t work, shit-can it, if it does, high-five. What is the worst case scenario here?

i remember the old internet rule of “lurk before posting”. Seems too many new members are all too willing to throw their hat and pictures in the ring and when they get frustrated when they dont get the love they so readily expect like they get on facebook, myspace, bebo…etc

I remember lurking for a good year or two before signing up, i felt i had nothing to contribute and everything to learn.

I like the idea of dog pound reborn, but i can see it quickly become like off topic section with more in jokes.

I am laughing because someone keeps voting this thread down to one star even though it is this many pages long. I wonder if those voting have the stones to voice their opinion.

Damn… this is the second time in a couple of weeks that an original poster has come out of lurking.

The question is, is this a sign of troubled times, or the start of something new and great?
