I was just wondering if anyone knew any trainers in Japan, all of the trainers in the gym I go to are really little guys, does anyone know someone that can help me out in the far east?

the quality of the trainer is not measured by his size… well, at least i don’t think so… get to know them… and find out if any of them are worth they salt…
good luck in any case

That is true–but I think its more encouraging to have someone that looks the way you want to look helping you out, that way they can tell you problems maybe they ran across…I dont know though, I really just want someone there to critique my form.
Where do you live?
Kashiwa- in Chiba Prefecture…about 30 mins from Ueno.
Hey David,
I JUST moved back to Canada from Japan after a three and a half year stint the day before yesterday. I can totally understand your position. I lived in Hokkaido, Kushiro City and the gym there was full of trainers but they were only trained in Body Systems stuff like Body Pump or Body Step etc… They didn’t know the first thing about strength training which was made obvious once one looked at the free weight room. They only had dumbells that went up to 25kg and then replaced the only power rack with a Smith Machine!! I crapped my pants the day I walked in and saw that.
There were never any experienced people in the gym when I was there so I was forced to hire a trainer from the States via the internet and we exchanged detailed emails regarding form. I also studied pictures and videos on various websites; there are some good ones.
How is your gym equipped? Just before my return to Canada, I lived in Kawaguchi, Saitama. I worked out at a sports club but it wasnt well equipped. I really really miss life in Japan already but Im happy to be back here in Canada working in a fully equipped gym designed by people who know their shit and know what I need.
Goodluck and enjoy your stay in Japan for as long as it lasts!
