T Level 164 while on 200mg / week

Been on injection TRT for about 8 years. Twice a week injections of 0.5ML 200mg/ml. Doctor doesn’t do AI so I do it on the side and have been at a consistent does for a couple of years.

I have felt like absolute crap for a couple of months so went in to have my levels tested and they were 164. This is the same regiment that I have been on long term and they have always been 400 - 500 (nothing to write home about but I was fine). Waited a couple of weeks, switch to a different vial (just in case) and got tested again - still about the same.

At this point, I’m a loss. No idea what’s changed but I’m at the end of my rope feeling like crap.

Have a doctor’s appointment next week - any ideas on how I should lead the conversation or hat may have changed so drastically?

That’s really interesting. I’m on 200mg/wk and at my trough I’m at around 936ng/dL. There has to be something else going on here; For some reason your body isn’t using the T you’re putting in there. I wouldn’t even expect numbers as low as 500ng/dL at a dose of 200mg/wk. Are you using Cypionate, Enanthate, or Propionate?

What are your other labs like? What was your E2, and when was it last tested? Is there anything else for you that has been borderline, or off? Thyroid? Etc.

Yeah I have no idea what the deal is. I used to be fine at the dosage and now it’s just plummeted. it’s not like I lost some sort of supplement natural production because it’s been 8 years now. I thought maybe I got a bad vial from Watson or something (it’s Cyp) but it was still low after two weeks with a different vial. So then I though maybe a bad lab but then the second came back close to the same.

All other labs are OK. Thyroid is good, E2 was like 25 or something. They didn’t test stuff like DHEA or Prolactin but they never have in the past and so I’m not sure how that stuff would affect it.

Not looking to to have a constant drip IV or anything but what the Hell? I just feel like such crap.

Maybe a bad batch of testosterone? You said you bought a different vial 2 weeks later and same result. Me thinking it could be a bad batch if both were the same brand, or someone is taking the good gear and replacing it with rubbish. I’d probably ring the manufacturer tell them your story and get them to test the vial. Someone at the plant could be pressing the wrong buttons.

Even 500ng is low if you are putting in 200mg a week let alone 160.

This is very strange indeed. Something more than meets the eye.

What kind of needles are you using?

Where are you injecting?

Subcutaneous or IM?

Has any of this protocol changed?

You said you were using Watsons then switched to another vial. Was the other vial still Watsons? Are you buying this at your actual pharmacy or from someone on the street?

Sorry if some of these questions imply you are an idiot, but we’ve seen worse.

No worries man, I’m just as baffled by this as anyone.

So everything is legit - been on TRT for about 8 years, all injection. I use a 23 gauge 1 1/2 inch into the my legs (alternating) 0.5ML of 200MG/ML twice a week (usually Tuesday and Saturday).

I get my prescription at Walgreens - they carry the 10ML bottle from Watson. So when I switched to another vial, that was just as a refill. I was coming to the end of the one when I had the first blood test and then did a refill the next week to move to a different vial just incase it was a bad batch or something.

It was actually a little comforting to find out that I was so low because I really thought that I was either going crazy (extreme depression and suicidal thoughts) or that there was something seriously wrong with me b/c of all the fatigue. All my other blood panels came back fine so it seems if I can figure out what the Hell is going on here then I can be back on-top of it.

I’m thinking about going to one of those “any lab” places to have it tested to see if their scores match up.

Definitely very strange. I think checking it on a new lab would be a good idea. If still an issue, my only recommendation would be to change your injection site. There are plenty of guys, including myself, using insulin pins (29 gauge half inch, 0.5 cc) and injecting into deltoids and other lean muscle areas that can be IM with a half in needle. Maybe give that a go.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

What else are you taking? Pregnenolone?

First of all it does seem like you are low based on symptoms,.
My first thought invalid test or bad batch (it does happen)
You followed the same pattern of injection for many years.
Now if you are having pain issues then this can chew up testosterone to some degree as well as inflammation, but not to this extreme…
I would check adrenals
What area in the USA do you live in? Something is chewing it up …some kind of systemic inflammation, virus, ect…lyme?

hey, i know it has been a while since the last post, but have you found the cause of this. Im desperate to know because i am having similar issues. I too am using the 23g 1 1/2 needle with 150mg test cyp per week with a test level of 220. Have you figured out the cause of this?

I had a similar issue and I was feeling like shit again on 200mgs per week. Strength was decreasing and so was my libido, Im not due for blood work for a few months but I noticed my nuts were shrunken a bit and tight. I started a regimen of hcg, I did 200ius eod and was feeling great about 3 days later. My strength and libido also increased too. I now do 250ius 2x per week and am good to go.

There seems to be a shortage of HCG…where are people getting it?

I’m having the same thing, 5 years on T and it’s not working now. Pharmacy did switch T brands but there could be other issues in my case. Please keep us updated.

hope everyone finds out whats wrong. I have googled every possible reason as to why 100 mg test cyp per week leaves me with a 220 total testosterone level, and i have found nothing of help!! If you do find out the cause, please share!! thanks
