I am currently on the T-dawg diet and am taking a week off. Should I adjust anything for the week off? I also am taking boxing 3 nights a week. Should I take a post-workout shake after the boxing or just eat regular low glycemic carbs? I am mainly trying to lose fat, which is the reason for the T-dawg. I eat my first meal with carbs and the last meal will be with carbs, after boxing. I just don’t know if the boxing requires a post-workout shake. Any help would be appreciated.
Hey man,
I’m in your boat too. I’m in Kickboxing and BJJ, Back to back. After the 1 hour Kickboxing, I have time to sip a P+C meal, and afterwards, I eat a P+F meal usually b/c I’m trying to consume my P+C meals ealier in the day. I don’t think a post workout shake (like Surge) is necissary for this training, but that’s just my opinion, maybe I’m wrong.
Boxing…kewl. I found that I had to increase my calories when I took up boxing (just two nights a week) along with Karate (4-days), and weight training (just 2 or 3-days).
I don't recall any boxer saying they needed some type of post workout shake. As a matter of fact, I saw a great flick about my favorite woman boxer, Lucia Rijker, called "Shadow Boxer". Just a great flick, anyways, she spent time at some pro boxing training camp. And they were eating a huge home-style southern breakfast. Well, it looked REALLY good. But certainly not the type of breakfast for someone very concerned about nutrition. And their dinners were pretty huge, too. But, the way these boxers train - I'd eat alot, too.
SO, your post-workout shake well be, more than likely, based on YOUR needs. You'll just have to watch closely how your body reacts to this routine. And if you notice a weight gain that consists mostly of fat, make the proper adjustments.
So treat it like cardio. I figure I need some type of carbs because it is pretty intense.

No carbs, no energy,no stamina. Your ass will be on the canvas. Definitely do your protein shakes, but bump up the carbs.
