I’m getting ready to move from a 4 day upper/lower slit to a 5 day(1 BP per day) split.
My concern is hitting 1 bodypart per day, with intensity and not hitting it again for 7 days. I feel like that might be too much rest to gain size(which is my goal). Can some guys who are experienced with a 5 day, weigh in on this?

I felt the same exact way when I moved from hitting my bodyparts twice a week, to a once a week.
Moving to a once per week split has given me the ability to hit a more intense workout because I now have the time to recover fully, and in all honesty has given me some of my biggest results since I’ve been lifting in just the short amount of time I’ve been doing this split.
Best advice would be to relax, don’t let your mind think too hard on the subject, and just do it. 95% of competetive bodybuilders utilize this split, and they obviously are doing something right. So, give it a shot for eight weeks and with the proper nutrition see where you get. If not it was only eight weeks and you can rotate back to your old split but I guarentee you will see gains.

That’s kinda how I feel. With an upper lower, I feel like I can’t hit each muscle with enough volume. Thanks for the feedback. I’ll definately give it a shot.
