Sure, Arachne, I’d be honored to video you. I am working at the meet but can certainly break away to video your lifts. Or find an equally good videographer.[/quote]
You should take your state test this weekend???
Not going to lift in May, sorry. Still toying with idea of day trip though, we’ll see.

Not ready yet. I need more experience on the platform.

I’m disappointed but understand the timing isn’t right for you. Let me know if/when you’re passing through. I’m always glad when you drop in on the O35. You have much to offer.
Today was a HIGH GRAVITY DAY. Which means even light weights felt really heavy.
RDL
8/45
5/75
Conventional DL
5/95
3/10/115
1/135
1/155 . . . felt super light. Flew up. This bodes well.
Squat
8/45
5/65
4/8/80
These squats felt like half a ton or so. Isn’t that funny? I was just totally sucking wind. It was so laughable. I couldn’t get my foot positioned right. It was after the fact that I realized I had forgotten to put on my squat shoes. I do believe it makes a HUGE difference with my newly rebuilt foot. But still. 80 lb!!!
Wide-Stance GMs
3/8/65
Again, felt ridiculously heavy. Still in the wrong shoes. Gotta lay blame, you know, to feel better.
Worked a USAPL meet Saturday where Arachne competed. Just taking attempts and running computers.
Trained today.
Lying Ls (cuff stuff)
Band pullaparts
DB Ys in reverse incline
DB incline press . . . actually went up in weight FINALLY
Standing lat pulldown
Seated facepulls
Hammer curls
Tricep kickbacks
Shrugs
Haven’t done shrugs in a long time. Need to add these back in, me thinks. Oh. I’ve grown a lovely bone spur on my shoulder.
I comfort myself that I don’t do stupid gym shit like the guy in this vid. What, exactly, is he working here?
bone spur, I wonder if that’s what I have where they repaired the shoulder, I have a small bone jutting out, right where my bra strap goes and depending on the strap, it can really get irritating. Never thought about a bone spur, I’m just dealing with it.
So much, “dumb gym crap” in the commercial gym I belong to, they have a sign up stating it is against the rules to video, or take photos of people working out.

Yep. Me too. Just trying to make friends with it.

Yep. There’s a sign in my gym saying the same thing. I ignore it and they leave me alone.
My husband has a similar bump, as the result of a separated shoulder. It doesn’t seem to bother him any.
I have to remember the phrase “high gravity day”. That happens to me alot. Absolutely blame the shoes. Also, blame the bronchial bug. It is taking me a long-assed time to regain my endurance.
Want to know something? Yesterday I was able to pull more conv. with good (new) form than I was able to do with sumo. This is interesting…

Snap- I’ve seen this move before. It is excellent prep work for doing 1/4 squats with the bar only on a Smith machine. Bone spur looks painful hope it isn’t causing you too many problems.
Bone spur is not a big problem. Just an irritant at times. Adds some character to my shoulder anatomy, I believe.
Kimba: Now that is interesting! Conventional, eh? I may end up pulling conventional again on the platform. Time will tell.
Today was a great training day. Everything felt very light. Maybe because it was?
Squat
5/45
5/65
3/10/85
1/100
1/115 . . . 5 lb. more than bodyweight
My squat is coming back very nicely. I’m going to stay with the high reps for a bit following linear progression.
Deficit Sumo DL
5/95
3/10/125
I felt these in my foot. Right where one of the joint fusions and plate is. Something about the weight distribution with my foot in this position, I suppose. I’ll need to increase weight slowly even though this is not remotely challenging.
Planks
3/80 seconds
Seated GMs
3/8/65
Lying Hammie Curl
3/10/50
My coach is competing in USAPL Masters Nats in May. I wrapped his knees today for the first time since last September. He cringed in pain several times. I must admit a certain satisfaction in that.
Good work Snap. After a couple of years of beginner stupid guy training the guy above can graduate to intermediate stupid guy training which looks something like this.

That is the sign of a good wrap! If you can feel your feet when you get under the bar, they are too loose!!
Interesting on the bone spur. That is a big reason I love muscle/fat cover my bony shit up haha
You keep saying your numbers are low, Im not seeing that, I think you are coming back really strong!
After the “skinny” talk in my log, I cant imagine you another 5#s down, I know you are trying to get into a
lower weight class…
You are a thinker and then some so Im sure you have weighed the pros and cons—>pun intended
I hate benching. I’d rather go to the dentist. Really. I’ve been competitively powerlifting for just over three years. From the time of my first meet to my best platform experience, I have gained a whole 5.5 lb. on my bench. And that’s only because the shirt does all the work for me. Granted, I tore my shoulder up. But still.
Band Pullaparts
3/10
Flat Bench
10/45
8/55
7/65
8/75 two boards
8/80 two boards
3/85 two boards
Fail. I probably can’t even do a competition single at 90 lb. It’s ridiculous. My coach was a bit pissed. He started hammering on me about my nutrition. If my goal is to compete in the 105s, I don’t want to walk around heavier than 110, I said. He thinks I’m a nutcase to worry about my weight when I don’t even have a meet on the calendar. Plus, he says he can strip 7 lb. off of me in one week. Blah, blah, blah. We bickered for awhile.
Bagged the boards and played with feet positioning.
3/8/70
5/70
Wide-Grip Seated Row
3/12/80
Tricep Overhead Cable Extension
3/12/70
Pecs on Pec Deck
8/60
7/60
6/60
Tired and discouraged so I left.
It’s one thing to have a bad day. But to have a lift that never improves and is actually weaker than the average female gym-goer is just ridiculous. I took some vid today that I may post. In watching it, I can see that I’m unstable even on the bar descent and lift my ass on the press. Gotta stop that.
May go watch a friend bench tonight. He plans to open his bench at his next meet in the mid-500s. Fucker.
