maybe if you went up a weight class so would your bench? just saying…
There’s nothing worse than a logical man when a female is in the middle of an emotional moment.
Actually, I have eaten up to 116-117. My numbers do not rise. So I want to try the opposite approach: drop a weight class and see if I can maintain my numbers. I can actually be in the ballpark for national-level competition if I can hit my best geared numbers at one weight class down.

You two have a strange relationship. It’s cute.
Sorry you’re frustrated with bench. You are so demanding of yourself. It’s not an excuse, but starting again after the torn shoulder is a big deal. Please be patient and keep training it.
TO put apples to apples though, your bench you’ve worked on more, and is far closer/is to a body wt bench then my own is or will ever be.
The longer I’ve tried the more I’ve hated it. I’d rather work on adding 30 pounds on a dl or sq for a meet total–and am far more likely to get closer to THAT then a better bench-- then bench constantly with no or marginally fractionally microscopic results.
I get fed up with people saying you gotta train what you hate…well what if the LIFT hates YOU?? ARGHHH
I HEAR YOU. Lets make our own federation for god’s sakes :{

I have to ask you, how long were you at this 116-117?
A couple months? Purely the result of eating way too much junk that manifested as excess fat.

I fall asleep in the dentist chair. Crazy, I know.

Do you have any specific goal for bench?
Be stronger. My best platform lift is 110 lb. in a shirt.

Eh tu, Brute? We’re soul sisters.

lose 7# in a week? Can you do that, have 2 hour weigh in, and not lose strength?
Absolutely not at my weight.

Snap the only reason I question the weight thing is, my back at your weight/my weight then:

You are leaner at this weight than I am. I have more excess fat than you.
Rick: I don’t have answers to all of your questions. When I do, I will post. I always appreciate your input.
Warm weather has returned to Coloardo So I’m going for a six-mile hike later this afternoon.
I want to say how much I appreciate the input from everyone. I’m trying to focus on solutions now rather than my frustrations. I’m looking forward to some new bench programming, which will be forthcoming. Also, I’m back to talking to Lil Power’s nutritionist. Proper nutrients and the appropriate timing of such is a variable I’ve never really focused on. Perhaps it will make a difference. It certainly can’t hurt to try and will be a learning experience for sure.
Just for fun. Here’s a set of benching from yesterday. So many things wrong here . . . It’s like I’ve forgotten how to bench. Damn, my arms are so long.
And my daughter deadlifting yesterday. She needs more arch. This is what obsessed parents do to torture their children. She already has the same size feet as me!

Thanks for reading.
Your butt is definitely making an orbital attempt. I should actually get a camera and record my own bench attempts, but it seems obvious to say that.
How much does your daughter weigh? I wonder because I wonder if Ouro set the standard for women’s deadlifting around here.
Other than your hips leaving the bench I didn’t really see anything wrong with it. I know we are often time our toughest critics but you’ve done great things in the sport and come back from a couple of pretty big injuries.
It’s a testament to your drive that you aren’t satisfied but can and should be proud of what you’ve done so far.
Snap, you do need to add some muscle to that body, sorry, I didn’t mean for that to sound rude, but I’m glad you’re talking to her again.
That bench looks lower than a competition bench, so do you normally have an issue with booty leaving the bench in comps? You do have a nice wider stance, I like that.
You seem to flare the elbows early on the way up, is your chest or triceps stronger?
Depending on your shoulder, where is your grip, could you take another fingertip wider?
Just a thought and I’m not really qualified to comment but it would seem to me that if you want your bench to go up then that’s what you need to focus on. My squat went up when I started to train it thrice weekly and made it the focus of my training.
