Good work on the bench. The suit bite marks look pretty bad. The yoga comment made me laugh.
KP,
Three Quick Things:
-
Excellent job on the bench, do you find using boards raw helpful? I’ve tried it maybe once but I get so scared.
-
I will never complain about my squat suit being too tight ever again
-
Did Thursdays To-Do list include poking the extremist bear?

I don’t know how you suited lifters do it.
Great seeing you all recovered and moving weight again.

does the suit shift or is it the leg that long down your leg? [/quote]
The suit was wrinkled. Bottom line is that it doesn’t fit well. Briefs may be a good option. Or a loose secondhand suit.

I suspect the benefit of boards at this stage is just pressing weight that’s a bit more than I can hit raw with a full range of motion. I will be moving into a shirt soon. I think. Why are you scared of using boards?

Bad girl.
I’m so excited to see your bench improving like that. Nice!
After two months of no benching at all on my programs, I finally got close-grip bench this month. And two months of no benching has caused my bench to really suck.
ah well.
You and I have exactly the same reaction to a yoga class. Hours of my life that I’ll never get back…
Today
Must have pulled my ileopsoas on Monday. Damn thing’s been bugging me all week. Feel like my leg’s screwed on wrong. Didn’t affect my lifting today. So all is right with the world.
Sumo
5/115
5/135
3/145
5/165
5/180 video
5/165
I have a new approach to the bar with sumo. Which is actually an old approach that I had moved away from. Seems to be working okay. I’m sluggish off the floor with this stance.
Conventional “Rack Pulls”

Easy. Fast.
Conventional No Touch
3/6/135
Box Squat
5/95
2/5/115
Brazilian Split Squat
DB Shrugs
Weighted Hypers
Nice “rack pulls”.
ufff…you gals and you love of pain. Those welts from your suit look so tender :{
I’m very glad to see updates My Snap ![]()
Ugh, deadlifting with the dreaded stop sign plates. I would like to know why someone thought that was a good idea. Lucky Neolithic man didn’t make this mistake, lol. /rant
BTW, good looking pulls.
Woke up Saturday and could hardly walk after my DLing session. Since then, my hip has been getting steadily better but still isn’t 100%. As such, I put off yesterday’s squatting until the end of this week and have been mixing up my days. Ahh, injuries.
Yeah, DLing with multi-sided plates is just plain stupid. I have another gym membership solely because it has round plates. But it’s a longer drive and a dumpy environment. So I’ve just been sucking it up with the shitty plates.
Hope everyone is having a nice summer.
How do you like pulling sumo and conventional in the same session. I’ve been considering doing just that.

Love pulling both ways. Just don’t know what I’ll do on the platform. I suspect my conventional will supersede my sumo in terms of 1 RM.
Good work on the benching. FYI I noticed when the Gals start doing real good pushups ie: Strict back, all down on ground and elbows “rowing” their Bench takes off.
BTW it looks like you were whipped on your legs…LOL
I hope your foot is feeling better anf your having a great summer.
Welts on legs . . . can barely walk . . . the hard part is explaining to everyone why you love lifting so much.

I would say…
Saw my ART guy today about my hip. He said I have a seriously strained hip flexor/ileopsoas/ileo-something
else. Every time I squat or DL, I wake up the next day with muscle spasms and unable to walk without a prominent limp. It’s a cycle that can become chronic. And since I don’t need chronic hip/groin pain, I’m taking a break from squatting (sniff!) and DLing to focus on my BENCH!
Bench continues to move in the right direction ever so slowly. I can honestly say that I’m enjoying benching for the first time in a number of years.
If I can get all my lift numbers where I want them by meet time (August 25), I’ll compete. If not, there’s always another meet.

I myself dread posting about a setback and fearing someone will kindly suggest I throw in the towel.
I feel you on the hip injury, it sounds not too far off from my old hamstring injury. I also strained my right latissimus dorsus last Friday, but there is no comparison because I can walk to do groceries and work without taxing it much. I had ART for the hamstring and it helped.

Check back on my log what you suggested couple of weeks ago. No one can question your determination. It’s obvious you’ll keep going. The only issue is making sure things keep getting better.
I would imagine hamstring would be worse since we use for so much, although it was amazing how much movement a bad adductor really whacked me. Anyway, glad it’s healing.
Bummer. But you’ll be back pulling and squatting before too long. In the meantime, I’ll look forward to hearing about your bench progress!
Pass the time taking sordid pics, posting them in the Pete/Meat/Jack logs, and hope for a quid pro quo?
Btw, those welts were kind of hot…
