OB_s the raw squats looked great, nice work.
Im sure your suit work will clear up too.

Thanks puppet guy. I don’t know about taller but my ass got bigger. Every time I see myself squat it makes me laugh. I don’t really fit the standard with the stork legs and the freaking huge range of motion.
I’m going to have to relearn the suit to some degree due to how tight it now is. It’s very hard to sit back into it and it felt like it was pulling me out of position. It was tough to even bend to get under the bar. It’ll just take some work. The good news is that I hit 315 at 120lbs when it was as loose as a pair of jeans. I’m hoping to hit 350 this year with the tighter suit and and a bit of fat :
Yeah I think you got taller too. I really do envy the depth you got on those 190 squats. Very nice squatting.
Nice raw squats! At the risk of sounding like a parrot… great depth! =D
Nice work ouroboro. Form is looking alot better too.
Tonight’s warm up was rearranging the plates in the garage. Yesterday, we pulled a bunch of crap out of the garage making a lot more space.

I used my O shoes again tonight and really worked on forcing up my arch. My goal is to be like one of the little asian lady power lifters that look like they can fold their bodies in half.

That is an amazing arch as it is. Are your heels on the ground when you get into final position? I couldn’t tell from the video.

Yeah, they are flat on the floor. I have to make sure of it since it’s required in our fed. That’s the beauty of the Olympic shoes. The heel gives you a bit of elevation.
Shit! Nice arch! Wish I was flexible enough to pull that off!
ouroboro_s - great range on those beltless squats!

Thanks bunny. Now I’m just working on actually putting more weight up. It still lags behind my other lifts but it’s getting better. I asked Frank to measure my ‘wingspan’ the other day and it’s 5’8"; 2" more than my height.

Thanks. I’m trying to get them a bit higher but that will come when I pack on all the gear ![]()

At the moment, whenever I try to aggressively arch my back, I can’t keep my heels on the floor at. all. Which totally destroys any chance of “leg drive” (honestly doesn’t happen much anyway).
Beautiful form! You’re amazingly graceful with all that limb! Not to mention strong as a freaking horse.
Fuckin awesome, why can’t women like you lift in my gym?!
Yesterday I got back into gear and just fucked around to see where I was at.
I have a lot of work to do on squats. I went to 275 for triples and the lowest I got was 2" above parallel. I don’t think the suit is too tight. I think because of the weight gain, it’s pulling at me differently and I’m not sitting back the same as I was. I need to relearn the groove.
Bench I got to 155 with commands. It came up easily but my butt came off the bench. The benches at my commercial gym are super low and I’m more likely to do it there.
Deadlift I pulled up to 305 and then went for a PR. Frank loaded the bar. It came up really easily. I got it past my knees a couple inches and then there was a big distraction, I lost speed and couldn’t lock it out. Turns out it was 330. My last PR was 315. I have no doubt I can get 330 easily. My goal this year is 350. It won’t be much longer.
Weight was 58.5 (129lbs)

Way to freakin go- goes to show sometimes the numbers block us mentally. I wonder how much I would benefit if someone who knew me well would load the plates without telling me how far and fast I would move on.
you’ll hit 350 as a holiday gift to yourself ![]()

Thanks. It was a good feeling. It kind of offset my frustration over my squats and having to relearn my gear. However, once I figure it out, I should be able to squat 330 too.
It’s a very nice feeling training with someone who knows what you are capable of and has a vested interest in seeing you doing well and staying happy.
Nice job, especially for being this early back in gear. Where were you training at Burlington GL?
Amazing!!
