Your 315 squat at 56 is 168ish on the wilks, my 407 at 82.5 is 166.
You are awesome.
I bragged on you to my 5x IPF bench press world champ handler. He was impressed.

Yay. Thanks for doing that math for me. That makes me feel really good because I am impressed as shit with your 407. I’m pretty stoked to see what I can get out of the new torture suit.

When I peeled off my squat suit, it looked like I had been sprayed with the garden hose. My shirt was soaked through with sweat. It is very humid here right now.

265x1
That’s about all I could manage with that

How wide is your grip? I put my pointers on the rings - that’s as wide as allowed. It shortens the stroke, but I had to work them out to that point. I figure with your long limbs, it might help.

My pointers are on the rings as well. I think it helps but it seems to use different muscles than when I use a narrower one. Regardless, my bench sucks. However, triples at 110 last night was a PR of sorts for me.

This was quite exciting. I got the suit on myself with my rack and RL’s suit slippers. That wasn’t too bad. However, my face sweated like a tropical rain forest trying to get the suit slippers off. This is a link to the last three sets. squat new suit straps down triples - YouTube
Depth is high and my legs are ripped to crap. However, the fact that I can do 275 for a triple with straps down at very little effort makes me optimistic about what I’ll be able to do when this is broken in. I can’t get the straps up by myself yet. It was also super exciting peeling this baby off myself at the end. I got a bit freaked out and spazzy a couple of times when I struggled to get my belt off. I’m trying out my french man’s 13mm single prong belt and it is really tough to manipulate. I thought I’d have to call him up to come over and take it off me.
Power cleans
95x3
100x3
105x3x3
The real power cleaning happened between sets when I went in the house to clean up after my daughter. She is perpetually followed around by a cloud of dust and food crumbs.
CG Bench
45x10
95x3x5
Once you get that suit leanered you are going to be putting up some huge numbers. Very Impressive.

Yeah, I have high hopes of adding considerably to my squat max. I’ll be playing with it again on Saturday with the straps up seeing what it takes to get low. I doubled 315 last week and couldn’t break.
I just hope I survive the next couple of weeks. The London meet is two weeks from Saturday but I’m feeling really beat up right now. I don’t feel weak just tired. I ache all the time, particularly my hands and upper back. I sleep like crap nights after I train. For instance last night it feels like I didn’t sleep at all. I woke up about 2:30 starving hungry and had to get up and eat a couple of bananas. My body hurts just lying down and I can’t get comfortable. Man I feel old lately.
But I’m confident that I’ll move some awesome weight ![]()
You’re beating the crap out of yourself. I’d be wrecked squatting that much weight that often!

You’re right. I am. I’m probably approaching this foolishly. I think I bombed in Ottawa because I was strong but wasn’t accustomed to heavy weight and just mentally spazzed with it. I was determined this time that the weight would not feel heavy. My opener is 125 (275) and I’ve been hitting triples with it. It’s now somewhat of a warm up weight so it shouldn’t feel heavy but in the meantime I feel like I’m killing myself. I’m so worn out right now I almost feel depressed. This is what happens when I get thick about something. I just keep flinging myself at the wall.

When I read your post I immediately thought of Jim Carey in “Liar, Liar”
Guy walking into washroom - “What are you doing?”
JC - “I’m kicking my own ass!”
BTW - You’re looking strong under the weight. Even though they were high, you were controlling the weight well.
hmm sounds like it time to BTFO, and I say it because I am your friend and it’s the truth.
You are not recovering and that is not going to get better if you keep it up like this. You haven’t had a real recovery week in forever.
Jules, London is an open, it’s not a big deal. Hit what you need to hit to qualify for the provincials, don’t go overboard. There is no need at this point. Remember, your opener has to be weight you could handle if you were sick, tired, on no sleep and your dog puked in your suit.
Then hit the provincials and blow away some records and get ready for the Nationals in March, we are gonna have funnnnn.
Please?
wow quite a week, nice work-
cograts on the 3 wheels.
you and PMPM are stronger then most boys here woo.
kmc
ps recovery is fun!
Hey… el stubborno female type person… listen to DianaB… I just went back a few weeks of your log kiddo and you have been doing just as Rugger/ Jim Carrey said- kicking your own ass.

315x2 straps up/wraps 1/2 squats
This was fun. I had Frank and OBoile trying to do my belt up at the same time while I held onto the uprights of the rack. I just threw on a ton of weight trying to get as low as possible with the straps up. Very exciting.
I feel like shit still and completely beat up. I am not doing anything now until Thursday so that will be a 5 day break with nothing to recover. My hands and shoulders are killing me from squatting. I have to take pills at night just to sleep and I’m losing my sense of humour. Hopefully, an almost week break will snap me out of it.
One of the guys made a comment about the width of my stance and perhaps that’s why I was having problems with depth. After training, Frank and I played around with a broomstick and I closed my eyes and went through the motions of set up. I think part of the issue is that I’m using the metal bars at the bottom of the cage as a guide for foot width and some racks, like the one at Niagara, are wider so I end up too wide. My last rep at 275 in the old suit was good because I just walked it out and squatted it without placing my feet so wide.

Nice job. It looks like you’re set for all the openers.
[quote]Ruggerlife wrote:

I guess. I’m still nervous about squat depth. The last couple of days training will be with my opener and refining stance width making sure I’m good with depth. There is no doubt about my strength but just going an inch wider is making me high even when I force my butt down as hard as I can.
I just ordered an Inzer 10mm lever belt coloured royal blue. I won’t have it for the meet but hopefully it will make training alone significantly less scary in a tight belt.
When do you compete?
Your numbers are looking good regardless of when you do.
