SVJ for Wendler programs

I couldn’t find anywhere where Wendler specifically talked about standing vertical jump. I am aware that he heavily recommends box jumps to avoid impact. Because I am relatively tall (6’4"), relatively heavy (215), and relatively high jumping (28 inches standing vertical) I have injury worries about falling backwards from a box — at apex my head is nearly 9 feet from the ground.

Because of this I’ve been doing standing vertical jumps and landing in a deep squat to dissipate impact. Does Wendler have a take on this? Is this dumb in general? I feel fine doing this but always want to aim for longevity.

Ive listened to a fair few of Jim’s podcasts, and besides the box jump he also says the broad jump is fine.
Im not Jim (obviously) but i think he wouldnt be against it if you know how to do it and you can handle ths contact.
It seems mostly his advice if people ask “can i try this?” Is say sure, but start with less volume/weight than you think and see how the body responds
