For looks though Klokov (obvi) is the hottest weightlifter but Oleksiy Torokhtiy is really pretty too.

Well, “barely” . . . I think she’ll take the 3rd spot pretty handily down at 48, it’s just that the two girls ahead of her are absolute freaks. Christine Girard is consistently totalling in the mid to high 230s as a 63 (clean and jerked a Canadian record 134 recently if I’m not mistaken) and Marie-Eve Beauchemin-Nadeau recently totalled 240 as a 69 (with a Canadian record snatch of 106). Hard to compete with people lifting over 100% of the defined world standards.

Well, her numbers have come down (she did 195 as a 53 last year, and recently 178 as a 48) she just matches up better across the weight classes as a 48.

she is. i do get a cringe feeling that her twiggy limbs will break… but she does seem to have a very sweet personality and she gets some beautiful lifts. if her femurs can do it, mine should be able to do a hell of a lot better than they are doing now… even though she is a shortie…

She really is a helluva lifter. I think there’s other canuck lifters who have her beat on the cuteness factor though, personally.
