I would have slowed the fuck down and let them pass…thus ending any and all threat and not putting my daughter’s life at risk.

Your way still ends with people dying and/or getting hurt.

Tip: if you see 50 bikes in a group headed your way, DON’T FUCKING RIDE IN THE MIDDLE OF THEM or slow down and let them pass.

End of fucking story.

You can argue about who had the right of way all day at home.
And you are right about one thing, my way does end with lots of people getting hurt. My family and I are not those people so I have achieved my goal.
i agree with sentiment of fuck the bikers, but i dont want to be killing people with my kids around.

“hey daddy, what did we just crush?”
“It was just someones head, dont worry tho, he wasnt using it”

Do you really think that all motorists should be scared of big groups of motorcycles?? Are you saying that all guys that ride motorcycles in groups are thugs? That’s what you are implying. I find that hard to believe and I personally don’t want people to think that I am on a hair trigger waiting to fuck them up every time I ride with my friends. Not all bike riders are punk thugs as you seem to think, but those that are deserve to be dealt with accordingly if they act out.

They put him in that situation. If I have to make that choice like that guy did, its a fairly easy one. And if they put me in that fight, as he was, I am going to maximize the damage I deal out if that means protecting my family. That he did not do.

a motorcyclist would say yes

It’s a no win situation either way.

Don’t think that this was a situation that I would be happy about my child seeing. I wouldn’t want it to happen but if it did I think most men here wouldn’t hesitate in fighting back hard and fast.

Also as a side note: I would like to thank everyone for not turning this into a race thread. I have a feeling that was the intention when it was first started which was way off base with this case and I think everyone rose above it and actually talked about the subject without it degrading into something that it wasn’t.

Agree 100%, however i would do everything in my power to remain as calm and collected as possible in front of my kids.

I think the correct action of the suv would have been to find another route the second things started getting sketchy. or just pull over and let the retards go on their way.

If that was possible, but we don’t know how soon it was between whatever provoked this and the incident of the guy pulling in front and stopping the SUV driver hemmed in where they began to slash his tires.

In a situation like they were in, with no open roads or anyway to escape, i would have just let the organ donors go on their way the second i realized we were going the same direction.

I guess maybe I am in the minority there. I treat the same as I do any other motorist. I have never looked at a group of motorcycles and been afraid. Like the thought has never crossed my mind that they would try to mess with me. I just drive just as I normally would and they can do their thing. With that said, I could easily see myself ending up in a situation like this where I somehow offended one of them and they decided to come after me, despite me having really done nothing to them. Maybe that comes from being a weekend warrior type rider who just rides with a small group of friends and enjoys riding but I have never looked at bikers as people to fear.

Ive had situations where i pass bikers on the highway who were doing 60-65mph, i had my cruise control set at 80mph and nothing pisses me off more on the highway than taking the cruise off. So i pass them, at which point they decided to speed up and give me dirty looks. Problem was solved real quick with a middle finger, a downshift, and 20psi they were a memory. Those losers need to get over themselves and stop feeling entitled to the road.

I’ve driven nothing but a motorcycle for about the past four years, have almost been killed more times than I can count, and even I have no sympathy for these fools.

This all started when one of the bikers tried to brake check the SUV for no reason and got his ass hit like the fucking clown he was acting.

The man in the SUV, with his family, got hemmed in when all the bikers just stopped around him. If I were with my family and felt threatened, you better believe I’d have mowed these clowns down too, its a shame he ended up getting pinned in traffic long enough for them to hurt him. He was totally justified and it pleases me he is not being charged with anything.

Also I really doubt the SUV driver rode his way into the middle of them, rather the swarm just happened to engulf him while they were weaving through people en masse.

This story is the reason why I am ambivalent about learning to ride a motorcycle.

The margin for error is so small, I am not so much worried about myself, as I am worried about the carelessness of someone else.

This post right here sums up the argument and demonstrates why it is senseless to argue this issue or numerous others. We have been enthralled with group mentality. You’re individual rights and freedoms are meaningless when compared to that of the majority. A minor inconvenience to you is to be expected if the alternative is to ask 50 others to respect the freedom of the individual.

If you see 50 people in a tyrannical majority, just pull over, bow down to them, and worship their feet. The majority is always more important than your liberties.

Disclaimer: Most bikers are safe, considerate drivers and ride in groups respectively. But those of us that are on the roads on a regular basis run into (not literally, no pun intended) moronic motorcyclists on a regular basis. I would really prefer not to ever kill someone while I am behind the wheel, but when they routinely put themselves inches in front of me at 70+mph during rush hour, it very well may happen. It is not the responsibility of the trailing vehicle to slow down for motorcyclists, it is the responsibility of the motorcyclist to make sure they are a sufficient distance ahead of me before changing lanes.

This is exactly why I carry.

This is why I would never live in a state like NY with their gun laws.

If it would have been me… dude with the helmet would have been shot dead.

BUT…

We still don’t know all the fact. What was the driver doing to the bikers before the recording? Did he do something to agitate them? Is that why Mr. Cruz cut in front of him and slowed down?
