Yes they look like they could be a versatile tool. Estwing use stainless steel that’s not the best in my opinion. At least the Estwing hatchet I use is not the best steel. I wouldn’t mind getting a shingler’s hatchet with a high carbon steel with perhaps some differential heat treating like they do with the best axes and katanas and so on to get the really hard edge without the brittleness. I guess that’s a bit much to ask though for a shingler’s hatchet.

And that’s a “Vietnam tomahawk” you’ve got there. They’re a dedicated breaching tool, tried and tested. Still used today in standard military breaching kits but the style today is more tactical like the SOG Tomahawk.
