So… am I in?

It would be a honor if you sign me up if it’s not to late. As long as there’s no enlarged prostate side effect from Surge. I see no warning.

That’s a great question, one that isn’t easy to answer.

Even when young, I never got the kind of results that would indicate anything other than a modest potential for hypertrophy. So judging a program by how I look, or how big I’ve gotten has been unreliable for me. On more than one occasion, I’ve fooled myself into thinking I was getting more muscular when I was really just getting fatter.

Strength is a little more easy to assess, but then you have the whole issue of specificity, which can cloud what is going on. I’ve been fooled by that too…

These days, my check boxes would probably be:

  • Do the workouts feel like they are challenging my muscles without leaving me excessively beat up, or bothering my joints.
  • Do I enjoy the workout, in the sense that I can’t be hating the exercises that I’m trying to do. (HIIT comes to mind: certain kinds of interval programs are so challenging, that I find myself skipping the workouts).
  • Does the program fit into my life in terms of cost, flexibility, length of time required, equipment needed, etc.
  • Do I have any indications (subjective or objective) that I am at least preserving, if not increasing my muscle strength. Am I preserving my ability to function in the real world, doing the kind of tasks that I’m used to doing? Strength, flexibility, mobility, quality of physical movement are all considerations.

Given your reassurances about the adaptability to different circumstances and equipment, I’m willing to give it a try. So sign me up…

After reading your post, and all of your “checkboxes,” we don’t think you’re suitable for the program.

If we ever do something like this again, and if you’re prepared to commit fully, we could reconsider our position.

I want in. Definitely looking for a change and have always been a big fan of Dr. Darden.

Thanks!
But 600ml sure is a lot of liquid for a 73 year old to drink at bedtime. Can I make the bedtime dose a little more concentrated and it still digest effectively?
