I don’t know! It’s the first time I’ve really noticed in a focused way that my eyes are better. I’ve made a lot of changes, but most of them are more recent than the magnesium. Also, I seem to be the only one here taking the threonate version, which is Andrew Huberman’s recommendation. I looked up differences, and threonate is known for brain health, which if you listen to Huberman is a “haha, of course” thing.
I may need to try this. I just heard Stacy Sims talking about it as a must-have.
I used to be prone to The Sadness; by trial and error I’ve found that 5-HTP at night, SJW in the mornings and ashwaganda morning-and-night keeps my moods reasonably stable.
By which I mean I’m only sad when bad things happen and happy when good things happen instead of having uncontrollable random roller-coaster mood fluctuations.
I do, for sure. It’s like meditation in that the changes occur over time, but I feel strongly that mushroom extracts (Reishi, cordyceps, chaga, and turkey tail are my favorites) have made a big difference for me in terms of overall physical and mental health.
I take Fish Oil and Vitamin for General Well Being. I don’t notice any huge fast effects or immediate differences, but if I’m consistent I can train steady. Instead of getting a little run down, or progressing slowly, or sneaking in extra rest days here and there, I feel good and I start trying to cram the workouts a little closer together.
After a week or two to fill up my reserves, I feel like I can skip the Vitamin D and Fish Oil for a day or two here and there and not lose anything. Or get off track for a few days, then double up for a day to recover.
The real change come after 2-3 weeks without the Fish Oil and Vitamin D. I just feel noticably not as good, in a hard to pinpoint way. And it starts taking longer to recover between workouts.
I started messing with Ashwaganda in the morning about a month ago. It really feels like it helps me be more clear headed and decisive, instead of confused and unfocused.
Like I spent 16 months looking at stuff to build a home gym. I made zero decisions, zero progress, the garage remained unclean, the potential price tag grew, and I was less sure of what I wanted to get than when I started.
Then I started with the Ashwaganda, and 3 weeks later the garage has been emptied and the gym is Reality. Plus I got a new refrigerator and installed a new dishwasher.
We saved a bunch of money on our roof in July. That freed up the loot for all the other stuff.
If it’s not too late, see if you guys can locate the materials on your own. We saved some money ordering and accepting delivery on the metal for our roof. Instead of paying a mark up for the roofer to make that phone call for us.
My husband can do pretty much any construction (frame, plumb, most wiring) but is just not interested in fucking with it. He IS interested in building a cabin on land we have nearby, which is his focus currently.
Also, we pushed out the back of our house several years ago and replaced a kitchen and bath (put 1.5 baths in its place) and it’s still not entirely finished. There’s still trim work to do, and some of the exterior already needs new paint. We did everything but the countertops and ceiling plaster ourselves. It honestly sucked. A lot.
The roof guys, who I suspect are expensive relative to others, are talking about getting it done in a day, maybe day and a half. It’s a dad (78) and son (mid 50s maybe) with a crew of 8, and they seem to be taking the right sups for energy and drive, @twojarslave “using their special purpose.” They called at 7:49 am yesterday (Sunday) to come out for the bid, which he had to us by 3.
Maybe if I’d started the ashwaganda before we met with them at 8:20 am yesterday I’d feel like it was my special purpose to save money, but I just wasn’t ready yet for that, lol.
But what if he just winds up building the cabin I don’t care that much about instead of finishing the wall with the last of the penis-butterfly wall paper on it??
600mg of Beta-1,3-Glucan
400mg of Curcumin
5000 IU of Vitamin D3
all from Biotest, and all near daily
It’s 3 of the 4 ingredients from the no-longer sold I-Well (Biotest doesn’t sell the 4th and I haven’t looked elsewhere for it). I’m still a little salty about I-Well no longer being carried and about the change in predicted cost for the products, but I do feel like these supplements have decreased how often I get sick, as well as the severity and length of it when it does occur. I think they’re all good for me either way, but I appreciate the fact that they seem to work! Or at least my brain thinks they do, which is just as good, haha.
I’m open to fish oil and minerals like magnesium and zinc but haven’t bit the bullet yet. I’d probably go with Biotest when I do because I don’t know much about any other brands or how to tell what’s a good product.
I also two packages of Super Food or whatever it’s called in my cupboard that are probably 4-6 years old that I’ve never opened. I suppose I could give those a shot sometime.
I think Jim Wendler claimed Vitamin C did this for him. I looked for the article but couldn’t find it. The new layout throws me off.
Probably enlarged prostate related, but if not induced by that - nutritional enhancement, abstainment or retention, and edging all play a role.
Ive experimented with it. Personally i found that abstainment and edging were the most impactful on volume, but nutrition is the only thing that affects flavor.
Berries and pineapple are good.
Cigarettes, coffee and junk food are bad.
Asparagus is very bad.
Sorry, probably tmi but it’s taboo to talk about… which usually means it should be talked about.
Alright guys I did my shopping today. I went to the weed store to buy the best eggs in town and then swung by the natural food store and picked up a $3.48 bag of organic ashwaganda powder.
Am I supposed to eat this stuff or do I need to make a second stop at the weed store for a water bong?
