Ok. I went at the fitness shop and bought protein powder and creatine. I took small portions cause I’m just trying it.
3 pounds of whey proteins, 25$ can.
10 pounds was 50$, way better deal, but I didn’t want a 10 pounds for now.
300 grams of micronized creatine or something like that, 25$ can.
Okay, that’s cool, but HEY THAT JUST COST ME 50$ shit. That’s more than I earn per month, and this should last 1 month hehee.
Ok well. 1 scoop of proteins is 5 grams. So he told me to take 3 scoops 2 times a day in 500 ml milk. That’s 33G of proteins *2. What do you guys recommend? I only weight 120 pounds, and already eat lots of proteins, so ill prolly just take 1 shake post-workout.
And creatine. He told me to take 5 grams before workout, 5 grams after. No loading, and 5 grams on days off.
Isn't 10 grams of creatine a day too much? Jeez, I am not loading, just taking some. What's your advice? And I want this shit to last for long, I dunno if I'll but some after... damn expensive for a no work student.
Please gimme your comments on when and how much to take plz, really matters to me. And how the hell can you guys drink protein powder? It really tastes bad. Any suggestions?
sighs heavily Ahhh newbies. Lets tackle the creatine first. At 120 pounds you need probably 5 grams or less per day. More will not help. Second, protein powder is nice, but at 120 pounds, there is NO reason you cannot get most of your caloric needs from plain old food, unless you have a lifestyle where you don’t get many chances to eat. For future reference, buy the little packets of different brands of protein powders they sell in the health food stores to see if you like the taste BEFORE buying a whole darn can. Perhaps others on this forum have an idea how to make it taste better…I have no idea, because I have stuck with the same protein powder for 5 years now…just because I like the taste. Want a cheaper solution? Plain old beef…I like hamburger patties…they have a nice 22 grams of protein, and contain creatine, and taste pretty good. Dont think protein powder is a magic bullet. It is great for on the go people (I keep a can in my trunk…so whenever I stop for gas I can pickup a quart of milk…and have instant meal) However it isnt going to do anything special unless you are not getting enough protein…which you claim is not an issue…so stick to good old fasioned food for now.
Yeah, take atleast 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight that you have (120 lbs=120 grams of protein/day), take them in divided doses throughout the day(which means that you should probably have maybe 2 or 3 shakes per day) and make sure that you eat a lot in addition to the protein. You need to realize that although protein supps help, it really won’t mean shit unless you are eating a lot more(whole foods included)…and in your case I would assume that you want to gain weight, not just maintain at 120. This means you have to eat like a fucking pig, and you should be trying to consume more than 1 gram of protein for lb. of bodyweight(try to get atleast 1.5grams per pound). SO JUST PIG OUT and don’t worry about getting fat. OH yeah and you could just get a job considering it is the summer(when its not hard for kids to find a job) so you can have more cash for supps, becuase if you are gaining you would probably be better off buying MRPs for more quality calories…but that’s just my opinion.
Quality protein like Biotest Advanced Protein tastes like dessert. You just got some shit protein, that’s all. And you need more than a gram per pound. I’d say go for 1.5 at least.
You have gotten some good advice, I only have one thing to add… Be careful about the kind of protein you buy. You mentioned you take 3 scoops of protein in milk to give you 33g. Thats not very much per scoop when a fair amount is actually coming from the milk… it is time consuming but you really need to read labels and calculate servings to find the best deal. If you think you got ripped, just be glad you didn’t spend the $50 on the same stuff. You really have to watch these companies
For the dosage of creatine, I have read that you can either load up for 5 days at .3/kg of BW or just take .03/kg. The second way will take you about a month to fully load up, which is fine if are not cycling.
