Hello everyone. I’m pretty new here and I’m pretty much just trying to interact a little more with you all. I’ve been reading and searching articles all day and my eyes are killin me. Just wanted to see what some feedback might be on this.
I’m one of those people that if you give too many choices for a product, it drives me freakin crazy and I can never make up my mind. So you can imagine my dilemma when it comes to supplements.
I’ve been using muscle milk, animal pak, cellmass, NO-xplode and flax oil. The NO-xplode seemed to work the 1st few times I took it and now nothing. Which tells me that it was the placebo effect. Cellmass seems ok, just a overpriced creatine? Now after wondering where the little extra belly was coming from, I’ve learned about the fats in muscle milk.
I ordered some Metabolic Drive and some Surge today to give that a try. I’m mainly trying to put on more muscle and stay pretty cut up at the same time. Please reply with any suggestions if there are other things or brands you recommend.
The only other brand I buy is optimum, for whey sometimes.
the main thing is to learn about ingredients and what they do. then you’ll be able to read the label and tell if something’s crap or not. for example, the vast majority of fat burners are mainly caffeine, in different forms. Creatine products are often full of sugar (as you found out) or filled with other ingredients that are overpriced and won’t make much defference in the end as opposed to regular creatine.
Biotest is definitely the most innovative company, that also has a large amount of consumer trust behind it. If you stick with thier products, you won’t go wrong.
I don’t really know what you’re asking. Your goals are lopsided. Pick one goal and then give us an idea how you expect to accomplish this and then maybe we can offer more specific suggestions.
I think you know as well as any that almost all of the crap you were taking is crap. The only product I’ve heard good things about is the Animal-Pak (and flax oil of course, but that’s not really a “supplement” any more than protein powder is).
Regardless of your goals, however, the following supplements are good:
BCAA’s (or Beta-7, BCAA’s are cheaper)
Fish Oil (Flameout is good, but really any will do)
ZMA
Creatine (plain old German MonoH type like Biotest’s)
Surge
Test-Booster (if you need it) like Apha Male or TRIBEX
Carbolin 19 (not if using Alpha Male)
Other things to consider:
Protein
Multi-V (Animal Pak is good, if that’s what you are using from them as they have other stuff too)
Veggies
Oh and lift weights too.
Also- you must buy Chad Waterbury’s “Muscle Revolution” book. I pissed him off in his thread about it so now I owe him and need to recommend it as much as I can. From what I’ve heard it’s actually a very good book.
Thanks for the info. Yeah sorry, I wasn’t very clear on what I want to do. I really want some more mass especially in my arms but what guy doesn’t. I just have to accept that if I want to put on more size I’m gonna have some fat to cut off afterwards. This is the time of year to bulk up I guess and work on cutting after I get some more mass. I do know that I have to eat like crazy but making sure it’s good cals and not junk food. Then lift my ass off with heavy weights. The diet part is the hardest for me, I love killing the weights.
But thanks for the suggestions on the supplements. Maybe now that I was a little more clear about what I wanna do, you can add if needed. May have just answered my own questions though. Like I said, just wanted to interact a little more with you all and discuss it some. Any type of motivation is good.
I gotta get some new stuff. I’ll stick with animal pak I guess but stop throwing my money away on that other crap. Glad I found out about this site and message board.
Personally I use Biotest’s products and would have trouble reccomending anything else.
Let me be the first to say this on this thread, Supplements are not a substitute for a sound training and nutrition plan. They are a supplement, not the main event.
I use fish oil, Surge, Alpha Male and Spike for energy. This seems to work for me just fine.
