What the?
I haven’t come across anyone who can bench a shitload of weight and yet have no chest development… maybe I should get out of my cave more often.

There are ‘easier’ workouts that actually promote more muscle growth than tearing 'em down.
huh? Are you talking about hypnosis or some form of electronic stimulation. I’ll just stick with ‘good ole resistance training’ and break down my muscle tissue so it rebuilds and grows bigger.
read above. It’s apparent you have no real advanced capabilities to grasp anything above-“I work harder than you.”
So stick with that good ole resistance training, cause this–according to you, would not include speed work or periodization or active recovery or…
anything that isn’t supersets to the max

I did that shit for 5 years and wasted alot of time just confusing the body and trying to trick it into stimulation… never worked for me. Good ole blood sweat and tears works well with me. My body likes the stimulation. Just basic and heavy. Not too heavy. no trick exercises. just pain. pain in the muscle. alot of ache. no roids. no supplements. just a little thing called guts. go thru the pain barrier. grasping this will really inprove results quicker than any other breakthrough in performance or technique(well for me anyway).

some people would rather just bench a shitload of weight and have no chest development… but hey, it sure looks cool benching a bunch of weight.

I’ll give you a list of thousands of them. Go look at every power lifters chest compared to a body builders chest and you tell me whose stronger{the power lifter} and who has more chest mass(the body builder).
Taking a powerlifters movement and using it as a bodubuilders movement is not going to work. The only one I think it ever worked for was Sergio Oliva. The bench press is a power movement. there are better forms of hypertrophy. Ask Arnold Schwarzenegger why he did flys. Ask Ronnie coleman why he does dumbbell presses with 200 lb dumbbells.

Ronnie Coleman uses 200 lb DB’s b/c he knows the benefits of HEAVY lifting for hypertrophy. And powerlifter’s chest development isn’t seem as much b/c most of them don’t pay attention to diet. Look at Tate’s (for example) muscularity once he cleaned his diet up.

ok cool, whatever happened to Supersets’, isn’t that the thread title.
I don’t know why you seem to want to debate… I benched religously for 7 years and i still think it is a shit exercise for chest hypertrophy. i don’t know how much experience you have but i’ve been benching for 20 years total, you’re not telling me anything I don’t know or havn’t experimented with.
The superset debate was fine with me… i don’t care to talk about benching.
i like supersets and thats all i need to do for my purposes. if you have anything negative to say about them, just type up an article. i could care less, ill be doing supersets tomorrow when i do arms, then the next day when i do shoulders.
I think the poster was asking about experience on supersets, try sticking to that. hijack over.

Whaaaat? Ru kidding me? I think this is going to be the 3rd time now that I am stating that I have NO problem w/ SS. And, as I stated earlier, great job on your progress w/ exclusively using SS. I too originally got on this thread to give my opinion of SS…good to use at times, by not the only way to progress.
And the “benching” talk was not really “benching” talk. It was used as an example. The point being, (again, IMO) that using other methods to increase strength will definitely contribute to hypertrophy. I don’t know the original posters education level and experience, but that may be some good info. to help him make gains as well.
Thanks,
Danny
